Florida Panthers forward Eric Staal will make his season debut Thursday versus the Philadelphia Flyers. (Source: Florida Panthers on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Staal didn't play in the NHL last season but signed a one-year deal off of a professional tryout with the Panthers this season. The long-time NHLer last played in the league in the 2020-21 campaign, tallying 13 points across 53 games split between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. Barring a major turn of events, his fantasy-relevant days are well behind him.
Florida Panthers forward Colin White recorded an assist in Tuesday's loss versus the Chicago Blackhawks.
Fantasy Impact: White notched his helper on Eetu Luostarinen's third-period tally, but the Panthers eventually fell 4-2 to the Blackhawks. He's off to a nice start with his new club, notching six points through seven games, albeit with just nine shots on goal. In a bottom-six role without power-play reps, White should be left on the waiver wire.

Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen notched a goal in Tuesday's loss versus the Chicago Blackhawks.
Fantasy Impact: Luostarinen found the back of the net midway through the third period, but it wasn't enough in an eventual 4-2 defeat. Skating on a line with sophomore Anton Lundell, Luostarinen has enjoyed a nice start, posting three goals and six points across seven games, albeit with just nine shots on goal. The 24-year-old could play his way into fantasy relevance if this type of production continues but beware of the unsustainable 33.3% shooting rate.
