Minnesota Wild

Nico Sturm scored a goal and had an assist during Minnesota's 4-1 win versus Arizona.

Fantasy Impact: The goal was Sturm's seventh of the season along with five assists in 39 games played. Prior to this season, he had a total of just six NHL games with just two assists. As the Wild continues to explore for much-needed depth at center, Sturm has proven himself to be reliable with a plus-13 rating.

Kevin Fiala scored his 16th goal of the season during a 4-1 win versus Arizona. He was very active in this game firing five shots on goal while playing 16:28 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: He has a goal in each of his last two games. This season in 41 games, Fiala has 16 goals and 13 assists including 11 power-play points.

Kirill Kaprizov scored his 19th goal of the season, passing Marian Gaborik (2000-01) for the most goals in a season by a Wild rookie. Along with his goal, he also finished the game with four shots and four hits in 16:05 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: The leading candidate for the Calder Trophy for the league's outstanding rookie now has 19 goals and 19 assists in 45 games played. He has scored a goal in each of his last three games.

Cam Talbot stopped 39-of-40 shots during a 4-1 win versus Arizona. Talbot is now 5-1-0 versus the Coyotes this season.

Fantasy Impact: Talbot is on a nice sustained run going 5-0-1 in his last six starts, and 12-2-2 in his last 16. Overall he has a record of 16-6-3 with a .925 SV% and a 2.35 GAA in 26 starts.

Joel Eriksson Ek scored a late third-period goal that sealed a 4-1 win for Minnesota. He ended up with a plus-one rating, two hits, and one block in 16:29 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: The goal is Eriksson Ek's 11th of the season along with five assists in 26 games played. He has easily passed his career-high of eight goals from last season largely thanks to an 18.3 Shot percentage. While he likely won't maintain that pace all season, he has improved dramatically offensively and should be used in all fantasy formats.

Zach Parise had two assists helping the Wild to a 4-1 win versus Arizona. He finished the game with a plus-two rating and fired two shots on goal in 12:31 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: He now has three goals and seven assists in 24 games played this season. Parise has still not scored a goal since Feb. 24 at Colorado.

Mats Zuccarello scored a goal and had an assist during Minnesota's 5-1 win versus Anaheim. He also finished the game with a plus-one rating in 14:49 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: Since returning to the lineup on Feb. 16 from an arm injury, Zuccarello has one goal and two assists in three games played. He may be a good fantasy streamer option especially if he keeps playing on a line with Minnesota's talented rookie Kirill Kaprizov.

Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 28-of-33 shots during the Wild's 5-1 loss to Colorado.

Fantasy Impact: Kahkonen has played well while filling in for the injured Cam Talbot, but Colorado's offense was too much for the entire Minnesota team. In six games played Kahkonen has a 3-3 record with a 2.87 GAA and a .903 SV%.

Jonas Brodin had an assist during Minnesota's 5-1 loss to Colorado. He played a team-high 24:43 minutes and finished with a minus-one rating along with four shots and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Brodin signed a seven-year contract extension this offseason with the Wild but is known more as a great defensive player which is great for real-life hockey but not so much for fantasy. Last season he posted two goals and 26 assists in 69 games. This year he has one goal and four assists in nine games played.

Mathew Dumba scored the only goal for Minnesota during a 5-1 loss to Colorado. He fired five shots on net with two hits and two blocks in 20:35 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: The goal was the third of the season for Dumba and he also has one assist in nine games. The goal was his first in six games but he has been active for the Wild firing 15 shots in that six-game span.

Ryan Suter had two assists during the Wild's 5-3 loss to San Jose. He finished the game with a minus-two and had two shots on net while playing a team-high 22:35 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Suter once again is the team leader in ice time even at the age of 36. He has five assists in six games played this season and appears to be the same player the Wild have been able to count on since he signed that big $98 million contract in 2012. Last season in 69 games he scored eight goals and dished out 40 assists.

Alex Stalock stopped 20 of the 23 shots he faced and grabbed a win as the Wild outlasted the Oilers 5-to-3 on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Stalock has 15 wins in 29 starts this season with a 2.69 GAA and a .908 save percentage. He is 20th or worse in all three of these categories making him irrelevant for fantasy owners at this time.

Alex Galchenyuk assisted on two of the five Minnesota Wild goals on Friday as they went on to beat the Oilers 5-to-3.

Fantasy Impact: Galchenyuk is now on his fourth team in the last three years and has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points through 50 games played this season. That said, he has three points through his first five games as a member of the Wild with a plus-minus of +2. I wouldn't be running to the waiver wire for him, but he's worth adding to watch lists to see if he catches fire with the recent change of scenery.

Victor Rask helped set up Jared Spurgeon on the first of his three goals on Friday in Minnesota's 5-to-3 victory over the Oilers.

Fantasy Impact: Rask now has four goals and eight assists for 12 points through 41 games played this season. He has no fantasy value at this time.

Jared Spurgeon scored the final two goals of Friday night's game to complete his first career hat trick as the Wild topped the Oilers 5-to-3.

Fantasy Impact: Spurgeon's three goals bring his season total to 10 to go along with 18 assists for 28 points. While he provides some blue line scoring, Spurgeon is on pace to have his worst plus-minus season of his career. Still, if you need some offense from a defenseman, then Spurgeon is worth a roster spot.

Carson Soucy ripped a wrister from the left circle to find pay dirt for the seventh time this season as the Wild topped the Oilers 5-to-3 on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Soucy has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 55 games played this season. Sure, you'd like to see more production assists wise, but seven goals and a +16 plus-minus for a defenseman on a bad Wild team makes him a player to be rostered in most leagues.

Nick Seeler was waived by the Minnesota Wild on Sunday following the blow out loss to the Bruins Saturday night. (Source: TSN)

Fantasy Impact: Seeler had appeared in just five games this season and registered zero points and was a -6. He shouldn't have been owned, but in case you had him rostered, you can go ahead and drop him now.

Luke Kunin scored a goal for the Wild in their 4-2 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. He was a plus one with a goal on four SOG in 16:34 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact: In his third partial season with the wild Kunin age 22, still has some learning to do. At this point in his career is not relevant especially because he does not see any time on the powerplay unit. Kunin could still make a name for himself in the coming years after being a first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Category: Game Recaps

Jason Zucker had two points in the Wild’s 4-2 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. He was a plus two with a goal, an assist and two SOG in 15:55 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact: Zucker is in the midst of a good season and should be in most starting lineups. He now has ten goals and nine assists thru 28 games played. Look for him to get hot soon as the Wild continue to play well after a slow start.

Category: Game Recaps

Dubnyk stopped 28 shots on Tuesday as the Wild fell to the Kings 3-to-1.

Fantasy Impact: Dubnyk is just 3-8-1 on the season with 3.43 GAA and an .893 save percentage. Currently, Dubnyk sits at 49th in the league for save percentage and 52nd in goals allowed. He should not be rostered in fantasy at this point.
