FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 7

FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 7
It's impossible to overlook DeAndre Hopkins' production heading into Week 7

It’s impossible to overlook DeAndre Hopkins’ production heading into Week 7

It’s Week 7 in the NFL, which means we’re almost at the halfway point in the season. If you are in a season-long format like mine, then you are in fact halfway until the playoffs start.

Many owners have probably had to fix one or two things to their lineup. For example, Eddie Lacy has been a bust and Peyton Manning has had a bad year. Not to mention all the injuries to key players (Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and Ben Roethlisberger). Luckily in DFS, you don’t have to worry about any of that, and you can put together a new lineup every week. Without further ado, let’s get right to it.

Quarterback

Carson Palmer – ARI vs. BAL – $8,200
Two quarterbacks I like a lot this week are Carson Palmer and Andrew Luck. Both have favorable matchups, but I am going with Palmer for two reasons. First, Baltimore allows the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks with 21.98, the third-most yards and the sixth-most touchdowns. Second, Palmer is $700 cheaper than Luck and, therefore, presents better value this week. Palmer has thrown for over 300 yards in four-out-of-six games this season. Last week, he threw for 421 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I can’t see the Ravens stopping Palmer and this offense on Sunday. Expect another big game out of him.

Sleeper: Ryan Tannehill – MIA @ HOU – $7,700

Running Backs

Todd Gurley – STL vs. CLE – $7,400
Todd Gurley has rushed for 146 yards and 159 yards, respectively, in his last two games. Since returning from an ACL injury that kept him out for the early part of the season, Gurley looks like he’s the real deal. He faces a Browns’ defense on Sunday that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs with 25.25. It should be another big game for the rookie this week.

Latavius Murray – OAK @ SD – $7,000
In his first three games of the season, Latavius Murray averaged 16.4 FanDuel points. Over his last two games, he’s averaged just 7.4. While he has only had one 100-yard rushing game this year, I like him against the Chargers this week. San Diego is allowing the most fantasy points to opposing running backs, and I expect Murray to bounce back after two subpar performances.

Sleepers:

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Hopkins – HOU @ MIA – $9,200
DeAndre Hopkins is unstoppable right now. He leads all wide receivers in yards, is second in receptions and tied for second in touchdowns. He has over 20 fantasy points in all but one game this year. It’s amazing that he is doing this without a good quarterback, but the bottom line is you can not pass up this kind of production.

Martavis Bryant – PIT @ KC – $6,900
Martavis Bryant returned from a four-game suspension last week and had a huge game. He had six receptions, 137 yards, two touchdowns and put up 29.5 FanDuel points. The Chiefs allow the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and are tied for the most touchdowns allowed as well. Bryant is an excellent value pick for Sunday.

John Brown – ARI vs. BAL – $6,700
I am going with the Palmer-John Brown stack this week. Brown is significantly cheaper than Larry Fitzgerald and is coming off a week in which he had 10 receptions for 196 yards, scoring 22.6 FanDuel points. The only red flag against Brown is that he has only caught two touchdowns this year. Hopefully, that will change against the Ravens.

Sleepers:

Tight End

Antonio Gates – SD vs. OAK – $5,800
Antonio Gates is back from his suspension and once again finds himself as one of Philip Rivers’ favorite targets. He’s had nine catches and over 90 yards in each of his two games this year. The Raiders allow the most fantasy points (14.96) to opposing tight ends and are tied for allowing the most touchdowns to them as well, with six. Gates apparently suffered a left MCL sprain last week and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Keep an eye on his status for Sunday. You may have to go with an alternative.

Sleeper: Delanie Walker – TEN vs. ATL – $5,500

Kicker

Josh Brown – NYG vs. DAL – $4,700
Josh Brown is perfect in field goal attempts (13-for-13) and has only missed one extra point this year. He is averaging 11.6 FanDuel points at home this season, versus just 7.6 on the road.

Sleeper: Josh Lambo – SD vs. OAK – $4,700

Defense/Special Teams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ WAS – $4,000
I only have $100 above the minimum to spend on a defense, so Tampa Bay is the best of what’s left. Washington is the 23rd-ranked offense and is 23rd in scoring this year.

Sleeper: Pittsburgh Steelers @ KC – $4,600
