Quarterback
Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears ($28)
@ Kansas City Chiefs
Cutler appears to be over the hamstring injury that kept him out of action in Week 3, tossing two touchdowns in Week 4 against the Raiders. He has a great matchup for quarterbacks this week against a Chiefs defense that is giving up the most fantasy points per game to the position. Cutler has shown that he can have a high ceiling over the years, especially if he’s able to avoid turnovers. As an added bonus, star wideout Alshon Jeffery should be back in the lineup after missing the last three weeks.
Other notables
- Sam Bradford ($27)
- Michael Vick ($26)
- Josh McCown ($22)
Running Back
Todd Gurley – St. Louis Rams ($10)
@ Green Bay Packers
Yahoo must have set their price on Gurley before seeing his breakout performance last week against the Cardinals. Gurley is fresh off gashing Arizona with 146 yards on 19 carries. That performance should cement Gurley as the Rams’ workhorse back going forward. At a cost of $10 he is a must-play in all lineups, even against a Green Bay defense that has been rather stout so far this season.
Other notables
- Doug Martin ($17)
- Rashad Jennings ($15)
- Ronnie Hillman ($14)
- Duke Johnson ($11)
Wide Receiver
John Brown – Arizona Cardinals ($18)
@ Detroit Lions
Brown could be considered somewhat of a disappointment so far this season, but his usage has been promising over the first four weeks. Carson Palmer has been consistently taking deep shots to Brown and one of these games they are going to connect. The Lions are a difficult team to run on, but they have a weak, aging secondary with no one who can keep up with the speedy Brown. The breakout is coming and it very well could be this week.
Other notables
- Allen Hurns ($18)
- Leonard Hankerson ($17)
- Kamar Aiken ($14)
- Tavon Austin ($12)
Tight Ends
Owen Daniels – Denver Broncos ($15)
@ Oakland Raiders
The Raiders are giving up the most fantasy points in the league to tight ends at 18.7 per game. That is a full five points per game more than the second place Giants. Tight ends against the Raiders are practically a must-play every week going forward. Daniels has seen four red zone targets over the last two games and cashed two of those in for touchdowns. He’s a good bet to find the end zone again this week.
Other notables
- Martellus Bennett ($19)
- Charles Clay ($18)
- Delanie Walker ($17)
- Gary Barnidge ($14)
Defense
Atlanta Falcons ($11)
vs. Washington Redskins
The Falcons face a turnover-prone Kirk Cousins at home on Sunday. The Redskins have been a middle of the road matchup for opposing defenses, but they will likely be without Jordan Reed and DeSean Jackson which downgrades their offensive outlook significantly.
Other notables
- Kansas City Chiefs ($11)
- Jacksonville Jaguars ($10)
