Yovani Gallardo picks up first win as a Ranger

Yovani Gallardo allowed eight hits and two runs in 5.2 innings of work to earn the win in the Rangers 5-2 victory over the Houston Astros today. Gallardo walked one and struck out seven to earn his first victory in a Rangers uniform. (source)
Fantasy Impact:
With Yu Darvish done for the season and now Derek Holland on the 60-day disabled list, Gallardo is the "ace" of the staff whether he wants to be or not. Facing that kind of pressure, the veteran came through with a solid outing against a decent Astros lineup. The Rangers will need him to be a rock the rest of the season if they are to have any chance of competing.
