Jake Petricka faces only one batter and strikes him out

by Rob Schwarz, Jr. | Mon, Jun 15th 10:52am EDT

Jake Petricka came into the game in the seventh inning after Chris Sale let up a two-run homer to give Tampa the lead. Sale put a guy on base by walking him before Petricka was called to the mound. With a runner on first, Petricka struck out the final batter to end the side.

Fantasy Impact:

Jake Petricka has been pitching well lately. He has an ERA under 3.0 over the last 15 games and a 1.35 WHIP. He has brought his season ERA down to 3.54 and is striking out more than six batters per nine innings. With a K/BB ratio of 2.50, Petricka is striking out more batters than he has averaged in his career. Unfortunately, his role limits his fantasy value. Even in formats who award relievers for Holds, Petricka only has four for the season. Petricka has no fantasy value at this point in the season.
