Lack of offense dooms Yovani Gallardo, Rangers

Yovani Gallardo pitched well enough to win his eighth game of the year. Unfortunately, the punchless Rangers offense was no help in today's 2-1 loss to the Padres. Gallardo allowed six hits and one run over 5.2 innings, but left after throwing 99 pitches as he struggled at times with his control.
Fantasy Impact:
It was another solid, though slightly uneven performance, by Gallardo. The Rangers have a lot of "big names" in their lineup, but none of them sans Prince Fielder at performing up to expectations. Gallardo has already been mentioned in trade rumors, so it will be interesting to see the direction the team takes after the All-Star break.
