Fantasy Impact: It was a modest, but sold night for the .279/16 HR/55 RBI hitting Peralta. The veteran shortstop is having a career year for the Cardinals and continues to hit in the middle of potent lineup. Keep Peralta penciled into your fantasy lineup day in and day out.

The Cardinals fell to the Rockies on Saturday, 6-2. The loss dropped the Cardinals to 66-38 on the season. Jhonny Peralta provided a highlight for the Cardinals, belting his 16th home run of the season. It was his only hit in four at-bats and is batting .288 this season.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is 5-for-12 in the series with two home runs and five RBI. He's broken out of a recent 1-for-24 slump and is on pace to hit 25 home runs, which would be a career high.

The Cardinals pounded 14 hits in a 7-0 win over the Rockies on Friday. Jhonny Peralta provided a big blow with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. He finished 2-for-4 and is now batting .288 this season.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta continues his excellent season, now with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. His average has dropped 11 points over the last ten games, but Peralta's average, on-base percentage and OPS are still significantly above his career averages.

The Cardinals enter the All-Star break with a 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jhonny Peralta ended on a high note, going 3-for-4 with his 13th home run, an RBI, run scored and a walk. He's now batting .298 for the season.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is 7-for-14 over his last three games. He's heading to the All-Star game and for good reason. Peralta has 46 RBI, an on-base percentage of .355 and OPS of .828. He should continue to be one of the top fantasy shortstops in the second half of the season.

Jhonny Peralta picked the perfect time to record his first hit (1-for-4) of the game on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs. With the St. Louis Cardinals down by one with two outs in the 9th, Peralta took Pedro Strop deep for a two-run home run, his 12th home run of the season. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: It's been an amazing first half for Peralta and he's showing no signs of slowing down. Peralta may be the most valuable shortstop in the game right now and his WAR (wins above replacement) is second to only Brandon Crawford of the San Francisco Giants. Will Peralta be this good in the second half of the season? Maybe not, but that doesn't mean he can't continue to be one of the top hitting fantasy shortstops this season.

Former American Leaguer Peralta, who is leading the Cardinals in home runs (11) and runs batted (42), was on two All-Star teams while with Detroit — including in 2013, when he was suspended for 50 games in August of that year for a performance-enhancement drug violation. (Source: STLToday)

Fantasy Impact: Who would've thought a 33 year old Peralta would be starting in the All-Star Game at this stage of his career? Well, no one can deny that Peralta deserves the honors. The St. Louis Cardinals shortstop is having a career year and is on pace for a .297 average/22 home runs/83 RBIs. Yes, those are some deserving All-Star numbers indeed.

The Cardinals dropped their third straight game, a 5-3 decision to the San Diego Padres. Jhonny Peralta had a solid game in the loss, going 2-for-6. Peralta has hit safely in seven of his last 10 games and is batting .301 for the season.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta's averages this season are above his career marks. He's on pace for 39 doubles, 23 home runs and 85 RBI. One of the top fantasy shortstops in the league, Peralta should be grabbed if still available.

Jhonny Peralta had a hard time against the Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale in this game. The breakout shortstop finished the game 0-for-5 with two strikeouts.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta wasn't the only Cardinal to struggle against Sale in this game, so a game like this was understandable. The 33-year-old is on pace for 23 home runs, 85 RBIs and 23 home runs. Yes, it's safe to say that Peralta has turned out to be a draft day steal in his 12th MLB season.

The Cardinals used a 16-hit attack in dismantling the Phillies on Saturday, 10-1. Jhonny Peralta had a big game, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Peralta raised his batting average to a healthy .312 for the season.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is 4-for-8 with four RBI this weekend against the Phillies. His batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS are all above his career marks. Peralta is on pace for 24 home runs and is one of the top fantasy shortstops in the league.

St. Louis Cardinals SS Jhonny Peralta stayed hot Friday night, going 3-for-4 and raising his batting average to .323. Peralta is hitting .360 (9-25) with two HRs, three RBIs and three runs scored in his last seven starts.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta has had a good career against Kansas City Royals' Saturday starting pitcher, RHP Jeremy Guthrie, with a career average of .360 (9-for-25) with three RBIs and four runs scored. Look for Peralta to continue his hot start.

Jhonny Peralta finished Wednesday's game 1-of-3 with a single, walk and a strikeout. In Peralta's last 10 games he has a hit in seven of them.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta continues to truck along while sporting a cool .315 AVG/10 HR/35 RBI stat line. With the shortstop position being one of the thinnest in fantasy this year Peralta remains near the top of the group. Continue to start Peralta in all mixed formats.

Jhonny Peralta went 3-for-4 with a RBI single, a double, and a solo-HR against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta continued his stellar season on Sunday, raising his average to .321 (13th in MLB), and tying Wilmer Flores with nine homers for the most by a SS thus far. He's the best at the position in the majors this season.

Jhonny Peralta went 3-for-4 with three singles and a walk against the Dodgers on Thursday. He also had a RBI and a run scored in the game.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is on pace for the best season of his career. His current average (.318) would be the highest he's ever had, and the eight homers put him on pace to just about match his career high of 23. Keep him active in all fantasy formats and enjoy this crazy ride.

St. Louis Cardinals SS, Jhonny Peralta, hit his 2nd HR of the season on Friday night in Milwaukee. He finished the game 3-for-4 and raised his batting average to .317. The Cardinals bested SP, Matt Garza, 3-0 and tonight will face hard-throwing SP, Wily Peralta.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is slashing .317/.344/.500 with 7 R, 2 HR, and 8 RBI. If he is able to maintain hitting at this pace, there is no reason to think he can't finish among the top 10 SS in almost any league.

St. Louis Cardinals SS, Jhonny Peralta, had a huge game in their 7-5 victory over the Reds, in the series finale, on Sunday. The Birds were down 5-3 in the top of the 8th inning when Peralta launched a 2-run bomb into straightaway left field off of RP, Jumbo Diaz. It was great timing for the veteran shortstop to hit his 1st home run of the 2015 campaign. He finished 2-for-4 with a R, HR, 2 RBI, and walk.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta is off to a really good start to the young season and he has looked really comfortable at the plate. There's no reason to think he can't keep it going against the Brewers on Monday, in the Cardinals home opener, where Milwaukee will send SP, Matt Garza to the bump.

The St. Louis Cardinals were stymied by Chicago Cubs, SP, Jake Arrieta, and they failed to score a run in a loss at Wrigley Field, on Wednesday night. SS, Jhonny Peralta, was able to record his 2nd hit of the new season by driving a double down the left field line, that could have potentially put the Birds on the board if 1B, Matt Adams, hadn't been the lead runner. The Cardinals are off on Thursday before heading to Cincinnati on Friday for a weekend series.

Fantasy Impact: The veteran shortstop has looked relatively comfortable at the plate, and he was one of only three Cardinals that were able to register a hit off of Arrieta (one being Lance Lynn) on Wednesday. Cincinnati will start off the series with Jason Marquis on Friday, against whom, Peralta is 1-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI.

Peralta went 2-for-3 with two RBI's Wednesday versus the Mets. His spring training average is .333 with one home run.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta's average draft position is 198. He's not spectacular, but he is steady as a fantasy performer. In 2014, he batted .264 with 21 home runs and 75 RBI's. His average auction value is $5.

Jhonny Peralta finally found his power stroke this afternoon, going deep for a solo shot. It was good to see him finally settle in and rip one.

Fantasy Impact: Peralta broke a record for the Cardinals last year for most home runs by a SS in history. No issues here with him, what you see is what you're going to get. Look to see about 20 HRs again this year

Jhonny Peralta has not recorded a hit through the first two weeks of spring. The streak continued today as he went 0-2.

Fantasy Impact: He's been known in the past to have slow starts, so this is nothing new. Jhonny didn't get hot last year until midseason, when people starting picking him up off the wire. Hopefully in his second year with St. Louis it doesn't take as long.
