Todd Cunningham went 1-for-4 with a walk Tuesday in Memphis.

Fantasy Impact

Cunningham batted leadoff and is now posting a .282 BA with a .410 OBP. He also has 3 HR and 21 RBIs. With the revolving door that is the Cardinals outfield at the moment, Cunningham could get called up to fill in. Cunningham has good speed and a great OBP in the minors but is really nothing more than a bench bat.

Cunningham turned in a strikeout hat trick, going 0-for-5 in the Braves loss to the Padres Monday night.

Fantasy Impact

Cunningham's brutal game will not help his chances as Kelly Johnson comes back from his rehab assignment. He most likely will return to the reserve duties as the fourth outfielder with his greatest value being capable of playing all three outfield defensive positions. However, he does not have fantasy relevance.

He was playing CF in place of Cameron Maybin. What a night for the kid, who plays hard every time given the chance to play. His future is bright.

Fantasy Impact

This kid will play somewhere someday and he will deserve consideration for a roster spot whenever that is. He has a tremendous work ethic and carries an exuberance with him whenever on the field.

Cunningham has been on fire since being recalled from Triple-A to fill in for Kelly Johnson, who is out with an injury. All the peripheral numbers are moot because of the small sample size.

Fantasy Impact

While he is hot, ride it out in DFS if you like, but keep in mind that of the eight hits he has had the past three days, all have been singles, except for one double. He has only one RBI, but has scored four times in those three days. His value in fantasy leagues is minimal right now.

It's the second three-hit game in a row for the rookie. Cunningham is playing in place of the injured Kelly Johnson.

Despite his latest numbers, Cunningham has a way to go before he can be considered fantasy material.
