Brandon Weeden preparing for another opportunity

Fantasy Impact:

Tony Romo missed practice on Wednesday, no shock as he has not practiced any Wednesday during the 2014 season, but his back injury is still an issue so Weeden needs to be prepared to fill in again in the Cowboys' matchup with the Jaguars. Weeden had a lot of issues in his start against the 32nd ranked passing defense of Arizona and needs to work on his rapport with receiver Dez Bryant, who did not catch a pass until there was 1:50 left in the game. Bryant had ten targets but only two receptions and Weeden was not in sync with the Cowboys top target. Weeden only completed 54% of his passes with the Cardinals defense loading up the box to stop NFL leading rusher DeMarco Murray. Weeden needs to focus on easy routes to tight end Jason Witten like Week 9 and find a way to get the ball out to Terrance Williams and Dez Bryant if Romo is unable to play. Since Romo's status is questionable this early in the week, Romo owners should be able to do better than starting Weeden. His inability to link with Bryant and Williams makes him a weak option this week, even going against the 25th ranked pass defense.
