Cam Newton will not play this week

Fantasy Impact:
This has been expected since the media firestorm exploded on Cam's accident yesterday. His back injury is similar to what Tony Romo endured earlier this year. Romo sat for a game and was able to return. Cam has two transverse fractures compared to Romo's one, so it is unknown how the Panthers will proceed with their franchise QB. If fill-in Derek Anderson can produce a victory or two, Cam may return as the Panthers are still in the hunt for the division.
