Rumor: Scouts love Shane Carden's intangibles, hate everything else

An unnamed AFC National scout gave a backhanded compliment to East Carolina QB Shane Carden, stating "[Carden] looks like he's throwing a javelin, and he is on the wrong side of where we want quarterbacks to be in terms of athleticism, arm strength and accuracy, but his intangibles are way up there. I absolutely love his competitive nature, but I wish he had better traits." (NFL.com)
Fantasy Impact:
The pyramid of athletic success starts with a foundation of, surprisingly, actually being athletic, which is looks like Carden is not. While a weak QB class will likely inflate his draft status, Carden profiles as a long-time backup QB, which you shouldn't be rostering in even the deepest of dynasty formats.
