Darren McFadden signs for the Cowboys

by Chris Zolli | Fri, Mar 13th 10:57am EDT

Darren McFadden signs a two year deal with the Cowboys, effectively replacing DeMarco Murray in Dallas. The former fourth overall pick in 2007 will have huge shoes to fill, as Murray's record breaking season led to him being the NFL's leading rusher in 2014. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

McFadden has been injured and ineffective since entering the NFL. In 2010 and 2011, McFadden flashed his potential, rushing for 1771 yards and 15 total touchdowns; he also averaged 5.3 yards per carry, showing his explosiveness. Since 2011, though, McFadden has only averaged 3.3 yards per carry and has 1620 yards and nine touchdowns. McFadden has also only played one full season, 2014, and hopefully can stay healthy in Dallas. The Cowboys offensive line is considerably better than that in Oakland, so the previously explosive McFadden could see his career revive in Dallas. The Cowboys may still draft a RB in April, but at this point, McFadden is the starting RB for the Cowboys.
