Chris Borland, one of the NFL's top defensive rookies last year, told "Outside the Lines" that he is retiring due to concerns about the long-term effects of repetitive head trauma. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
This is a huge blow for the 49ers defense after fellow linebacker and All-Pro Patrick Willis retired last week. Borland was set to be a great IDP pickup, but this news hurts the 49ers team more than it does fantasy owners. The onus will be put on Navorro Bowman to return to form from a gruesome knee injury.
