Charles Clay signs Bills offer sheet

by Keith Kraska | Tue, Mar 17th 7:33pm EDT

The Buffalo Bills signed tight end Charles Clay, a Miami Dolphins restricted free agent, to an offer sheet of five years for $38 million, with $20 million guaranteed. The Dolphins have five days to match the offer, but they are not expected to. (Vic Carucci)

Fantasy Impact:

Clay is a better "real life" tight end than fantasy asset, as he is being sought for his versatility as a receiver and blocker. Last year with Miami, he scored three touchdowns and was the kind of borderline fantasy starter who would bounce on and off the waiver wire during bye weeks. In Greg Roman's run-heavy offense, there's no reason to think his upside is any higher. He has averaged a little over four catches a game over the past two years, so he does have PPR relevance.
