Goodell unlikely to step aside from Brady appeal process

by Matt Muller | Fri, May 22nd 6:21pm EDT

Attorneys for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell have recommended that Goodell reject the NFLPA's request that he recuse himself from hearing Tom Brady's appeal of his four-game suspension. While Goodell still could step aside as arbitrator, he would be doing so against the advice of his lawyers (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

As a surprise to exactly nobody who has followed Goodell's reign over the NFL, it appears that he will likely exercise his typical level of tight control over this appeals process. It remains to be seen whether Brady will receive a reduced or eliminated suspension. Until then, he remains a later round QB who is an excellent pickup for the last 12 games of your fantasy season.
