With Brandon LaFell out, Danny Amendola stepped up at OTAs

Mark Daniels reports that it was "hard not to notice Danny Amendola. During the two practices, Jimmy Garoppolo got a chance to work on his rapport with Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. With Brandon LaFell out due to a foot injury, Amendola was Tom Brady’s top target. The wide receiver took advantage of the situation, hauling in 15 passes from Brady — the most of anyone." Fantasy Impact:
Amendola was the forgotten man on a Patriots' offense last season that featured monster seasons by Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. Brandon LaFell also emerged as a go-to guy for Tom Brady during the majority of the 2014 campaign. If LaFell struggles upon his return or is slow to return to full strength this could be a big opportunity for Amendola to regain fantasy relevance in 2015. Amendola, played in all 16 games last season, hauling in 27 catches for 200 yards and 1 touchdown. He is currently the 106th ranked wide receiver in standard leagues. Still, monitor LaFell's progress for a possible late round steal.
