Rob Gronkowski will not need surgery in off season

by John Aubin | Sat, Feb 6th 9:16am EST

Gronkowski won't need offseason surgery on his knee or back, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports. Gronkowski struggled to stay healthy for a fourth consecutive year, as he missed one game in 2015 due to a minor knee strain. Additionally, a back issue afflicted him in both playoff tilts, but the touchdown machine still struck three total times against the Chiefs and Broncos. (Jeff Howe on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

In six seasons, Rob Gronkowski has had five double-digit touchdown years along with three 1,000 receiving yards. Going into the 2016 season, Gronkowski will continue to be the number one ranked TE in fantasy. If the Patriots can improve the offensive line it should free up Gronkowski to spend more time catching passes and less time helping to pass block which happened this past season. If that happens expect a big season.
