DeAndre Levy remains sidelined with undisclosed injury

by Aaron Martinuzzi | Thu, Aug 4th 8:24pm EDT

Although Lions' linebacker DeAndre Levy was expected to be healthy for the start of training camp following a labrum (hip) issue that cost him the 2015 season, he hasn't yet practiced with the team this summer. Levy reportedly arrived at camp having already suffered a different off-season injury and was placed on the nonfootball injury list. (Detroit Free Press)

Fantasy Impact:

After establishing himself as one of the league's best linebackers and an integral part of Detroit defense in 2013 and 2014, Levy's absence was felt last fall, and teammates, as well as fantasy IDP enthusiasts, were looking forward to his return this season. Between new general manager Bob Quinn and standing head coach Jim Caldwell, injury news coming out of the Lions organization has been limited at best and although both Quinn and Caldwell have downplayed the severity of his injury, it's tough not to wonder when we'll see Levy at full speed. Certainly, any fantasy owners drafting at this point in the preseason should pick up the talented Lions' linebacker as an upside-only option.
