Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated Thursday that Sean Clifford is their No. 2 quarterback.

Clifford was expected to win the backup role, but now the team has made it official. Clifford will enter his rookie season backing up first-year starter Jordan Love. The 25-year-old completed 73.3% of his passes for 345 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in two preseason games.

Sean Clifford completed 20 of 26 pass attempts for 208 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while also rushing twice for 27 rushing yards in the Packers' 36-19 win over the Bengals Friday night.

Clifford's stat line was fairly solid despite the two interceptions, averaging a solid 8.0 yards per completion on the night for the Packers. The Penn State product will look to continue to make a case to open the season as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart for a Green Bay organization in transition.
