Terrell Watson makes case to be Browns' third running back

Terrell Watson had four rushes for 28 yards on Thursday night against the Falcons. He also caught two passes for 12 yards. Atlanta went on to beat Cleveland 24-13.

Fantasy Impact

Watson is looking likely to beat out Raheem Mostert as the team's number three running back. He doesn't have much fantasy value right now, but would likely slide into a significant role if something were to happen to Isaiah Crowell.

Terrell Watson sees five carries Friday night

Terrell Watson took five carries for 15 yards on in Friday night's preseason game against the Packers. He also added two catches for six yards in the passing game. The Packers went on to beat the Browns 17-11.

Fantasy Impact

Watson has been locked in a battle for the number three running back job and didn't do anything to hurt his chances on Friday night. Reports indicate that head coach Hue Jackson loves Watson, so it would appear he has the inside track on the job. He's worth monitoring in case Isaiah Crowell disappoints in the early going.

Bengals cut RBs Terrell Watson, James Wilder Jr.

The Cincinnati Bengals cut the team down to the official 53-man roster Saturday afternoon and first-year backs Terrell Watson and James Wilder Jr. were both cut by the team.

Fantasy Impact

Both Watson and Wilder Jr. were long shots to make the roster, but the Bengals opted to keep Cedric Peerman and Rex Burkhead. Peerman will likely start the season as the third running back, but playing time will be tough to find behind Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. Peerman is probably the most fantasy relevant player, but is only worth acquiring if something happens to one of Cincinnati's top two backs.
