Vyncint Smith

According to WR Vyncint Smith's agent Adam Seifer, Smith will be signing to the Denver Broncos' practice squad.

Fantasy Impact

Smith has spent four seasons in the NFL, playing for the Houston Texans and New York Jets. He has 23 career catches for 329 receiving yards and one touchdown. Smith is a 6-foot-3-inch receiver who ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash. Should the Broncos ever need to call him up, he fits QB Russell Wilson's skillset.

Vyncint Smith will be undergoing a core muscle surgery after injuring himself during training camp. Smith had been taking first team reps for the injured Denzel Mims (hamstring). Smith is expected to miss 5-8 weeks.

Fantasy Impact

Very unfortunate news for Smith who was starting to work his way up the depth chart. Smith's opportunity may be gone by the time he returns, as the season will most likely be underway. With Smith and Mims out, Braxton Berrios is the next receiver up to take reps as a starter for the Jets.

Vyncint Smith is taking reps with the first team at wide receiver with the New York Jets. A hamstring injury that has sidelined Denzel Mims, is currently giving opportunity to Smith.

Fantasy Impact

It is unlikely that Smith will have much of a role when the season starts, but it shows that he has progressed with the team. When Mims is healthy, Smith will not see much work with the Jets, but it looks like he will be receiving work as a starter if there are any injuries to the Jets' receivers.

Vyncint Smith caught three of his five targets for 40 yards in the Jets' Thursday night loss to the Ravens in Week 15.

Fantasy Impact

Smith was elevated to a starting role in three-wide sets thanks to the absence of Demaryius Thomas for the game. Smith was a distant third in receiving and was not likely in any starting lineups. He's fine to leave on waivers for Week 16, as the matchup against the Steelers is a very difficult one, even if Smith sees playing time again.

Vyncint Smith rushed one time for a 19-yard touchdown in the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Eagles.

Fantasy Impact

Smith was not used except for a trick play where he got the edge and scored as a runner. Don't worry about adding him in fantasy football.
