Rams considering keeping a 'traditional' fullback in UDFA Zach Laskey

The Rams plan on seeing if undrafted rookie free agent Zach Laskey can make the team as a traditional fullback. If Laskey were to make the Rams, he'd be the first traditional FB to make the team since 2010. Jeff Fisher had previously used TEs Corey Harkey and Lance Kendricks in the fullback role, but seems intrigued with using a traditional FB "We got the production out of Corey, we got the production at times out of Lance, and so we're going to give Zach a chance to see, but both Corey and Lance, when they're on the field, don't necessarily have to line up as a fullback," Fisher says. "They can line up as a tight end. When you have someone like Zach there, he's going to line up as a fullback, so you're telling the defenses that you're in a two-back set, and, OK, here we go."

Fantasy Impact

All indications out of St Louis (Drafting a RB with the 10th pick, spending most of the remaining draft taking linemen, now experimenting with a fullback) are pointing to the Rams being one of the most run-heavy teams in the league in 2015. Laskey himself has zero fantasy value, but he represents a doubling-down by the Rams on the run game. Expect 15+ touches a game for whomever is the starting RB for the Rams, whether that be Todd Gurley, or Tre Mason.
