Pitcher

Luis Severino (NYY): $12,300 vs. LAA
Severino loves to pound the strike zone, and has solid command to put up a good number of strikeouts. He has put up 7 or more strikeouts in five of his last six starts. He has shown to be very reliable this season, and often pitches into the sixth inning. He is up against an Angels team who has a 20% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitching this season, which is one of the better ones in the league. But the Angels don’t have the most powerful offense in the league, as they are only batting .242 as a team vs right-handed pitching. Severino makes a good cash game option.

Alex Wood (LAD) : $9,100 vs. NYM
Wood is having a very strong season for the Dodgers, and is consistently putting up quality numbers. This season he has a 1.90 ERA, to go along with a super low 0.90 WHIP. Tonight he is at home in a pitchers park, and is up against a Mets team who have a 22% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitching this season. That 22% is in the bottom ten for the Majors, and brings great upside for Wood. Wood has put up 23 or more DraftKings points in five of his last six outings. He is a good play in all formats.

Other Notables

Catcher

Alex Avila (DET): $4,000 @ SEA
Avila has some bit time power numbers vs right-handed pitching this season. He has a .458 wOBA and a .313 ISO vs RHP. Big time power numbers, and shows he has the ability to go deep any time he has this match up. Avila is on the expensive end for catchers, a spot where some DFS players like to spend down, so this could be a way to differentiate your lineups in GPPS.

Other Notables

First Base

Paul Goldschmidt (ARI) : $5,900 @ COL
Goldschmidt is super expensive today, but if you can manage to squeeze him into your lineups, you will be in a good spot. We all know that Coors Field is an awesome hitters park, and you should always try to load up on bats from that game if you can. This season Goldschmidt has massive numbers vs right-handed pitching, he has a .460 wOBA and a .325 ISO. Playable in all formats, if you can afford him.

Other Notables

Second Base

Brian Dozier (MIN) : $4,300 vs. CWS
Really like the spot Dozier is in today. He is coming into this game with over 10 hits in his last 10 games, and has some serious pop vs left-handed pitching this season. He has a .429 wOBA and a .244 ISO vs LHP. This game is in Minnesota, which is a decent hitters park, and the Twins always have power upside. He is good for cash or tournament lineups.

Other Notables

Third Base

Josh Donaldson (TOR) : $4,900 @ TEX
A day game in Texas in June is always a nice spot to look to have some exposure, due to the nice hot weather, and a great hitters park. Donaldson is usually a top option at the hot corner, and for good reason. This season vs left-handed pitching, he has a .496 wOBA and a .278 ISO. Big time power numbers, and with these conditions, a threat to go deep today.

Other Notables

Shortstop

Eric Sogard (MIL): $3,700 vs. PIT
Sogard doesn’t have a ton of power, but he simply gets on base. This season he has a .490 OBP and a .442 wOBA vs right-handed pitching. Great numbers for a player that is under $4K, and who generally bats high in the order. He is at home in a hitters park, and is great for a stack today.

Other Notables

Outfielders

Trey Mancini (BAL) : $4,300 vs. CLE
Mancini has some nice power upside even though he is facing a right-handed pitcher today. This season vs RHP, he has a .419 wOBA and a .303 ISO, really strong numbers and is a bit of reverse splits for him. Due to his potential home run threat, he makes a great one off in a GPP lineup.

Cody Bellinger (LAD) : $5,600 vs. NYM
Bellinger might be the hottest hitter in baseball, and this is no time to try and fade him. He has 10 home runs in his last 10 games, yes you read that right, 10 home runs in his last 10 games. He is breaking all sorts of rookie records, and even with his high salary, you should try to fit him into your lineup. This season vs left-handed pitching, he has a .397 wOBA and a .391 ISO.

Hunter Pence (SFG) : $3,100 @ ATL
Pence brings a bit of salary relief today, and is in a decent spot. He is in Atlanta, which is a hitters park, and has a .320 wOBA, and a .316 OBP vs left-handed pitching this season. Those numbers won’t blow you away, but the savings and the upside he brings makes him a decent play.
