Happy Wednesday DFS players, and Happy Fourth of July. If there was ever a better day to celebrate America’s past time, I don’t know what it is. There are two main options at starting pitcher tonight between Trevor Bauer and Gerrit Cole, and not much of a reason to deviate from them. There are a few decent opportunities for offensive stacks in the main slate, especially with left-handed Giants at Coors Field. The weather looks like it will not be an issue tonight, but be sure to check the lineups to account for injuries or resting players. Let’s take a look at some lineup picks you should consider for tonight’s main slate on FanDuel to get an edge on your competition.

Starting Pitcher
Gerrit Cole (HOU): $11,500 @ TEX
The Texas Rangers are the second worst team in the American League, and third worst in the majors, against right-handed pitching. As a team, Texas is batting .233/.320/.394 with 591 strikeouts. Only the Chicago White Sox hold a worse strikeout record in 2018 in the AL. Gerrit Cole makes for a slam dunk option Wednesday as he is as close to a sure thing this season as you can get. The Houston righty holds a 2.50 ERA with a 2.99 FIP this season with a 12.17 K/9. This matchup stacks up about as well as you could hope for. Don’t overthink this one and toss Mr.Cole in your lineup.

Gerrit Cole (HOU): $11,500 @ TEX

First Base/Catcher
Yuli Gurriel (HOU): $2,900 vs. TEX
To afford Gerrit Cole or Trevor Bauer, you are going to have to save some money in your lineup. Take a good look at Yuli Gurriel in his matchup against Rangers southpaw Mike Minor. The Texas lefty has allowed a 43.3% hard contact rate while carrying a 4.74 xFIP vs. right-handed hitters in 2018. In a very small sample size, Gurriel is 4-for-7 with a home run and stolen base against Minor. Too small a sample size to matter? Sure, but it doesn’t hurt. Gurriel is batting a solid .294 vs. southpaws and has started to show signs of power. For $2,900 he seems like a fantastic value Wednesday night.
Brandon Belt (SFG): $4,000 @ COL
If you are looking to spend some cash in the first base slot, Brandon Belt is far and away the best choice Wednesday night. The left-handed Giant is facing Rockies righty Tyler Anderson at Coors Field. Anderson has been owned by lefties this year, allowing a .329/.413/.586 with a .425 wOBA and 2.76 HR/9. Anderson holds a 6.72 FIP and the game is in Coors Field? Sure, yes.
Second Base
Max Muncy (LAD): $4,300 vs. PIT
Muncy is en fuego. After going 3-for-4 with two home runs Tuesday night, Muncy enters Wednesday’s contest batting .281 with 20 home run. The kid is good. He will take on Pittsburg right-hander Clay Holmes, who has a bit of an issue with his control.
Third Base
Pablo Sandoval (SFG): $3,000 @ COL
Sandoval is hitting better than you think, so don’t laugh. The “Panda” holds a .350 wOBA vs. right-handers and you can get him for just $3,000 at Coors Field. It will become apparent that Tyler Anderson is being picked on tonight, but for good reason. Anderson is a fine option to stack against Wednesday night. See Brandon Belt above.
Shortstop
Brandon Crawford (SFG): $4,000 @ COL
Tyler Anderson, take three. San Francisco shortstop Brandon Crawford is batting .311 with 11 home runs in 2018 and should be in for a decent night at Coors Field vs. a pitcher who has an inability to handle left-handed hitters. $4,000 may be a bit steep, but it seems worth it given the matchup.
Outfield
George Springer (HOU): $3,700 @ TEX
We continue to pick on Mike Minor (see Gurriel) with the selection of George Springer. The Houston outfielder is smoking lefties this season, slashing .287/.362/.545 with a .257 ISO and .383 wOBA. $3,700 seems like a solid price to lock in Springer to your lineup.
Daniel Palka (CWS): $2,700 @ CIN
Palka is a bit under the radar but carries a solid .227 ISO vs. right-handed pitching this season. He will take on the “not-so-scary” Cincinnati right-hander Sal Ramano Wednesday night. Left-handed batters are hitting .300/.383/.485 with a .371 wOBA against Sal Romano in 2018, resulting in a 5.18 xFIP. Palka makes for a good value play to make room for heavy hitters in other positions in the main slate.
Joc Pederson (LAD): $3,600 vs. PIT
The night of mini-stacks continues as we select another batter against Pirates right-hander Clay Holmes. Joc Peterson is batting .277 with 10 home runs over the last month and has made a career out of bashing right-handers. Peterson is slashing .291/.379/.628 with a .337 ISO and .418 wOBA. Now those are some impressive numbers. There does not seem to be a lot of value in the outfield Wednesday night, so taking Joc Peterson in this matchup seems like a no-brainer.
