Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups (2021 Fantasy Football)

Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups (2021 Fantasy Football)

Week 10 is in the books, and IDP managers are furiously scouring the waiver wire for impact additions. The first half of the season always provide some new and some old options to consider, some of which will impact IDP starters for the rest of the season. The names below all seem to qualify and may very well be available in your leagues. Let’s take a look at some of the names that are worth some of your free agent budget.

Marcus Davenport (DE – NO): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Marcus Davenport has started to heat up for the New Orleans Saints. He is up to four sacks in his five games this season and is riding a two-game sack streak. Davenport recorded three solos, two sacks, and two tackles for loss in Week 10, and now has three sacks in his last two games. He makes for a solid matchup based DL2 going forward and is a strong play in two of his next three contests. The DL8 in fantasy points per game on the season, Davenport has the talent and opportunity to force his way into the DL1 conversation if he can keep up his strong play.

Odafe Oweh (DE/LB – BAL): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Oweh has been excellent this season for the Baltimore Ravens. He tallied three solos, one assist, one sack, and two tackles for loss in Week 10. The rookie is up to four sacks on the season and leads all rookies with 29 pressures. For context, his pressure count is higher than that of T.J. Watt, J.J. Watt, Jerry Hughes, Montez Sweat, and Chandler Jones. Oweh should continue to develop for the Ravens and is a strong DL3 with DL2 upside for Week 11 and beyond. He deserves a long look with Chicago on tap for this weekend.

Kyle Van Noy (LB – NE): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Kyle Van Noy is in line to put up steady LB3 level numbers with Jamie Collins now on injured reserve. He was that and more in Week 10, tallying five solos, one sack, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. He did not see an expanded role with Collins shelved but his teammates’ absence opens up more tackle and pass rush opportunities for Van Noy. He should be viewed as a solid bye week filler for at least the next two games (ATL, TEN) while Collins is sidelined. Add him where needed.

Shaq Thompson (LB – CAR): 12% rostered on Yahoo
Shaq Thompson continues to produce for the Panthers but for whatever reason, does not get much respect from fantasy managers. He was excellent again in Week 10, racking up four solos, two assists, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two passes defended. The LB10 in fantasy points per game, Thompson should be started as an LB2 option on a weekly basis. Add him if he is somehow still available in any of your leagues.

Kenneth Murray (LB – LAC): 8% rostered on Yahoo
Kenneth Murray was activated off I.R. ahead of Week 10. He saw a reduced workload in his first game back but was still solid, recording three solos, one assist, and one tackle for loss. He should ramp back up to his normal complement of snaps and is a high upside LB2 option during the byes. He has LB1 talent but will need to start to produce consistently to be treated as a weekly LB2 with LB1 upside. Add Murray if you play in a league where you can start two or more linebackers.

Kyzir White (LB – LAC): 8% rostered on Yahoo
Kyzir White was excellent in Week 10. He recorded eight solos, four assists, and one tackle for loss, a stat line he produced despite the return of Kenneth Murray. Kyzir actually saw a season-high in snaps in Week 10, suggesting that he will remain a starter with Murray back on the field. White has been a solid LB2 option and has outperformed the likes of Lavonte David, Isaiah Simmons, and Tremaine Edmunds. Kyzir should be started as an LB2 option until further notice. Add the veteran linebacker where possible.

Jayon Brown (LB – TEN): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Jayon Brown was excellent with David Long and Rashaan Evans sidelined, posting eight solos and two assists in a Week 10 Titans victory. Brown was the Titans linebacker to roster coming into the season, but injury and the emergence of David Long has caused Brown to take more of a backseat. If Brown and Long can start cooking at the same time, things could get really interesting for the Titans defense. Brown should be rostered in all competitive leagues. Add him wherever possible.

Josh Bynes (LB – BAL): 2% rostered on Yahoo
Josh Bynes has been a great addition for the Baltimore Ravens. He picked up right where he left off since being promoted to the main roster and tallied a solid four solos, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one pass defended in Week 10. Bynes is a high floor LB3 option that can function as an LB2 during the byes. He is locked into a featured role on defense and should remain in that position despite Patrick Queen showing some signs of improvement. Add Bynes where needed.

Godwin Igwebuike (S/RB – DET): 1% rostered on Yahoo
Potential cheat code alert. With Jamaal Williams inactive and Jemar Jefferson knocked from the game with an injury, the Detroit Lions were forced to turn to special teams defensive back Godwin Igwebuike as the backup to D’Andre Swift. How did he respond? By ripping off a big touchdown run en route to two carries, 56 receiving yards, and 122 return yards. Being able to plug a running back into the S/DB slot is the sort of thing IDP dreams are made of. Add Godwin Igwebuike where possible and figure out his Week 11 role later.

Jalen Thompson (S – ARI): 9% rostered on Yahoo
Jalen Thompson is the epitome of solid but unspectacular. He will not wow you with tackle counts or others counting stats, but he is relatively consistent. He had his best week of the season in Week 10, tallying five solos, four assists, one tackle for loss, one interception, and one pass defended. The DB13 overall heading into Week 11, there are very few options with floors as high as Thompson will boast against the run-heavy Seattle Seahawks. He is on bye in Week 12, so consider a one week dalliance with the impressive safety.

Terrell Edmunds (S – PIT): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Terrell Edmunds has been a solid LB3 level contributor this season and looks likely to continue to produce at that level for the rest of the season. He is inconsistent but has put up enough strong weeks to maintain fantasy relevance at one of the tougher positions to shine at. Edmunds put up an exciting four solos, one assist, one sack, two tackles for loss, and one pass defended in Week 10. Add Edmunds where needed as an LB3 with matchup-based LB2 appeal.

Jevon Holland (S – MIA): 4% rostered on Yahoo
Jevon Holland has quickly developed into one of the most exciting young safeties in the league. He has been inconsistent as a rookie but had one of his good weeks in Week 10, racking up four solos, one assist, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two passes defended. He contributes in the sack and interception departments and should continue to get better as the season progresses. A DB2 type with weekly DB1 upside, it should only be a matter of time before Holland becomes a fixture in the DB2/S1 conversation. The DB12, since he became a starter in Week 5, Holland can be leaned on as a high ceiling option for Week 11 and beyond.

Kamren Curl (S – WAS): 3% rostered on Yahoo
Another week, another minute spent trying to convince fantasy managers that Kamren Curl should be a weekly fixture in competitive leagues. Curl was solid in Week 10, racking up four solos, four assists, and one pass defended. He has not been as consistent as one would hope, and he has not quite produced like he did during the second half of last season, but he is still a high floor option who could put his DB1 wares back on display at the drop of a hat. Add Curl where needed as an upside DB2 option.
