Ryan Pepiot

Ryan Pepiot could see significantly increased innings while Clayton Kershaw is on the IL.

We are hitting the final stretch of the fantasy baseball season. It is a sad time for degenerates like myself who live and breathe fantasy baseball, but with that comes the grind to finish at the top of the standings in all leagues.

Whether you play in a redraft, keeper, or dynasty league, prospects can significantly impact your teams. Which players could be next?

This article series will take a look at prospects that are worth stashing for both redraft and dynasty leagues that can make an impact on your teams sooner rather than later. We will also try to project ETAs on these players to help give you an edge in your leagues on when to add these players.

We will first look at redraft leagues and some prospects worth stashing for this season.

Prospects to Stash for Redraft

  1. Ryan Pepiot (SP – LAD)
  2. C.J. Abrams (SS – WAS)
  3. Josh Jung (3B – TEX)
  4. Jonathan Aranda (2B – TB)
  5. Alec Burleson (OF – STL)
  6. Triston Casas (1B – BOS)
  7. Drew Waters (OF – KC)
  8. Spencer Steer (OF – CIN)
  9. DL Hall (SP – BAL)
  10. Kyle Muller (SP – ATL)

MLB Debuts and Prospect Thoughts

  • Ryan Pepiot is set to make a start with the Dodgers tonight. Pepiot has been dominant in Triple-A and MLB this year. With Kershaw on the IL, Pepiot could stick in the rotation the rest of the season with the Dodgers.
  • Since moving to Washington, CJ Abrams has been off to a slow start in Triple-A. But it is hard to imagine the Nationals running out Cesar Hernandez much long at second base. He currently is supporting a .238/.302/.303 slash line. Abrams should be getting run at the Major League level with little to prove at Triple-A.
  • Josh Jung has continued to work his way back from a torn labrum. He hit three home runs in 29 plate appearances at the complex but was promoted to Triple-A, where he hit a three-run home run in his first game. Jung could be with the Rangers by the end of the month.
  • Alec Burleson continues to tear up Triple-A with the Cardinals. He has a .329/.371/.541 slash with 19 home runs. There are minimal spots in the Cardinal’s outfield, but an injury could lead to Burleson’s promotion.
  • Esteury Ruiz has been off to a slow start in Triple-A with the Brewers since being traded but could still find a spot at the Brewers centerfielder before long.
