We are now in Week 3 of the NFL. With Week 3 comes a clearer picture of each team during games. With this clear picture comes an easy path to building your DFS lineups. Unlike last week, the stud quarterbacks are back on this slate which changes how we spend our salary.
So let’s break down who we should think about stacking in our lineups to effectively cash across the board this week.

Jalen Hurts + DeVonta Smith (QB/WR, Phi)
Of course, as a Philadelphia native, I will start with the Philadelphia Eagles duo. Jalen Hurts has become a set-and-forget QB at the moment for your DFS lineups. It’s rare when a quarterback averages over 30 passing attempts and can throw on 10 more rushing attempts for good measure. Therefore, the fantasy floor is exceptionally high for Hurts. With the O/U at 47 points, this game could clear the over and the magical 50-point total to provide dividends for your lineup.

Pair all that Hurts information with DeVonta Smith, and your lineup could reach new potential. Smith caught all seven of his targets last week after providing zero points for your fantasy lineup in Week 1. With the Commanders’ defense struggling, the Eagles’ pass-catching options should all be in your core list of plays. As much as I love AJ Brown, I’ll take the cheaper alternative to provide salary relief to pay up elsewhere.
Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + Justin Jefferson (QB/WR, Det + WR, Min)
At 53.5 total points projected, this is my favorite game to attack with this slate. I would have laughed at you if you had started this year and told me I would be stacking Detroit Lions players. However, with the start of this season, Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown (ARSB) have outperformed my expectations. Goff has had 37 and 34 attempts in the first two weeks to pair with his six total touchdowns. Within those attempts, Goff has hyper-targeted ARSB, with 12 targets and over eight receptions in each game. With the Detroit defense being porous, expect the Lions to have to continue this streak to keep pace with Minnesota in this game.
Speaking of Minnesota, don’t sleep on Justin Jefferson. This game should be a get-right game for the stud wide receiver. Jefferson has been a star in his four games against the Lions. He has 503 yards on 30 receptions while recording a touchdown; expect more of the same this weekend as these two teams throw points all over the scoreboard in this high-scoring affair.

Matthew Stafford + Tyler Higbee (QB/TE, LAR)
What’s the easiest way to find your tight end on the slate? Look through the games and see who is facing the Arizona Cardinals. The Arizona Cardinals have allowed the most points to the tight end position in 2022. They have also let up the second most points to the quarterback position. So this game is a matchup made in heaven for Matthew Stafford and Tyler Higbee this week in a game where the O/U sits at 48.5 points.
Dameon Pierce + Texans D/ST (RB + D/ST, Hou)
Welcome to our unusual stack of the week. Seeing the Texans’ defense on any article sounds like a scary proposition, but hear me out first before you roll your eyes. The Texans are facing a Chicago Bears offense that has struggled to start the season. Last week, Justin Fields only threw for 11 passing attempts. This team wants to run the ball, and when both teams want to run the ball, those defenses show up in my player pool for the low total outcome. Add in the fact that the Chicago Bears have one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and now the Texans’ defense intrigues me. Remember, pressures and knockdowns lead to sacks and turnovers, all of which lead to fantasy points for a low-rostership cheap play in your DFS lineup.
Usually, my strategy is to pair my defense with the team’s running back, and with that comes Dameon Pierce. This matchup against the Bears looks juicy for Pierce’s potential outcome. The Bears allowed the most rushing yards in the league so far, so the game script leans into playing more of a running attack with Pierce instead of leaning into the pass-catching back of Rex Burkhead. Also, look at Pierce’s touchdown odds in this game on Draftkings. He has the third-best odds of both teams to score while having an O/U on total yards of 70.5 total. With his price point on DraftKings at 5K, Pierce has an excellent chance to 3x his salary and provide a strong RB2 for cheap in your lineups.
