By the Numbers: Luis Castillo, Zack Wheeler, Marcell Ozuna (2024 Fantasy Baseball)

There was once a show on VH1 called “Where Are They Now.” In it, VH1 would follow burned-out celebrities to give an idea of how their life is going.

It was entertaining, and they absolutely need to bring it back, but I feel the show missed the mark on who they covered. Why report on washed-up celebrities that people vaguely remember? I think they should focus instead on current celebrities and how their roles are changing year by year due to their public decisions and how it’s affecting their life. Somebody greenlit the movie Blue Beetle. I would love to see what that guy is doing in 2024. It would be interesting.

So, I took it upon myself to do a “where are they now” with preseason fantasy rankings. This gives me an awesome chance to:

  1. Get people riled up over small sample sizes
  2. See #1

Here’s how some preseason rankings are looking after 3 weeks.

Can anyone guess the Atlanta Braves outfielder who is leading the league in home runs and RBIs?

How about Which pitcher is leading the AL in strikeouts?

Speaking of A.L. pitchers, which one is 0-4 and 4th in the A.L. in strikeouts?

League Leader in WHIP of those with at least 20 IP?

It’s been an odd but fun start to the season. There are a lot of interesting stats out there I’d love to add, but I need to run. I’m heading over to VH1 offices to convince them to reboot my favorite show. Ahead to Week 4.
