Fantasy Baseball Prospects Report: Junior Caminero, James Wood, Paul Skenes

Welcome back to my weekly fantasy baseball prospect report at FantasyPros! The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy-relevant prospect information throughout the last week, all in one place.

The format of this fantasy baseball weekly prospect report will be by level and we will go through players in order of their placing on my latest Top 150 Prospect Rankings. I won’t be hitting every prospect every week, but I will focus on the most relevant throughout the week and follow up on other notable players post my top 150. This column will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the Minors who have outlived their prospect status.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects Report

Let’s dive into our weekly fantasy baseball prospect and rookie updates.

NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 ABs, or 50 IPs at the Major League level | All stats are as of Sunday, May 5.

MLB Hitters

      • Season (AAA): .203/.241/.392 | 3.6 BB% / 28.9 K%| 9 XBH, 2 HR, 5 SB
      • This Week (MLB): 4/20 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Pete Crow-Armstrong (PCA) got the call last week after Cody Bellinger went down with an injury. While he has been electric when he makes good contact, he needs to work on his plate skills because the chase rate is too high, and he isn’t walking at all.
      • Season (AAA): .303/.393/.525 | 11.1 BB% / 13.7 K%| 9 XBH, 5 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week (MLB): 3/10 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Tyler Black got the call after destroying at AAA this year and has been hitting third and fourth in the lineup daily.
      • Season (AAA): .307/.405/.594 | 14.9 BB% / 19.8 K%| 17 XBH, 5 HR, 5 SB
      • This Week (MLB): 3/15 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: You never know with the Rockies, but it looks like Jordan Beck could be the first call-up in the new wave of young talent they have incoming over the next year or two. It’s an impressive wave if they don’t ruin them.
      • Season (AAA): .287/.393/.713 | 13.1 BB% / 30.3 K%| 17 XBH, 13 HR, 5 SB
      • This Week (MLB): 4/11 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Joey Loperfido is playing in the outfield rather than at first base after getting the call-up this week. Though he doesn’t have a bomb yet in the Majors, he’s looking good so far.
      • Season (AAA): .371/.452/.694 | 11 BB% / 17.8 K%| 9 XBH, 5 HR, 2 SB
      • Season (MLB): .333/.354/.567 | 0% BB% / 20 K% | 8 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week (MLB): 10/25 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Andy Pages is simply rolling along and looking great. It makes sense; if he hadn’t gotten hurt last year, he would probably have been up in 2023.

MLB Pitchers

      • Season: 14 1/3 IP | 46.3 K-BB%, 21.9% SwStr% | 0.71 SIERA
      • This Week: 2 IP | 4 Ks, 0 BBs, 15.4% SwStr% | -0.64 SIERA w/ 1 save
      • Notes: This is Mason Miller’s last week as a prospect, so let’s just bask in his greatness one last time in this article and consider that he might win AL Rookie of the Year if things were just.
      • Season: 41 IP | 52 Ks, 5 BBs, 18.9% SwStr% | 2.47 SIERA
      • This Week: 12 IP | 13 Ks, 1 BBs
      • Notes: Jared Jones has been one of the most impressive starters in baseball this season. He kept things rolling with a fantastic Friday night start after a rough start to end last week at San Francisco.
      • Season (AAA): 25 1/3 IP | 31.9 K-BB%, 13.7 SwStr% | 3.20 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
      • This Week (MLB): 6 2/3 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.35 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • Notes: Christian Scott is looking like a future front-of-the-rotation starter and had a stellar first start of his career at Tampa.

AAA Hitters

      • Season: .328/.391/.724 | 9.4 BB% / 21.9 K%| 11 XBH, 6 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 8/18 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Junior Caminero is ready for the Majors and ready to destroy. Howeverm is Tampa ready for a player who could win Rookie of the Year?
      • Season: .327/.433/.467 | 15.7 BB% / 20.5 K%| 11 XBH, 2 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 9/23 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: James Wood is showing great discipline and has been hitting the ball hard (mostly on the ground) so far this young season. Wood should be in the Majors, but the Nationals likely don’t want him to finish near the top of the ROY voting because they would lose a year of eligibility. Otherwise, he would have just broken camp.
      • Season: .305/.379/.629 | 12.1 BB% / 16.1 K%| 18 XBH, 8 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 8/27 | 7 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Kyle Manzardo is on a three-week tear now and needs to be up in the Majors at this point; he’s been doing this for years!
      • Season: .323/.386/.662 | 8.3 BB% / 28.3 K%| 20 XBH, 11 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 10/29 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Coby Mayo is off to a strong start XBH-wise. However, the plate skills need to look better if he gets a call-up, especially considering he might be battling Heston Kjerstad for a roster spot. He’s probably not coming up until the end of the year, though.
      • Season: .284/.425/.441 | 18.1 BB% / 29.9 K%| 11 XBH, 2 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 5/16 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Owen Caissie might also be battling for a roster spot later in the season, but that depends on health and what spot might open up. It’s interesting to see some speed from him.
      • Season: .257/.373/.486 | 15.7 BB% / 29.1 K%| 14 XBH, 5 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 9/24 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: I compare Jace Jung to Nolan Gorman and he’s striking out a little too much like Gorman right now as well, but he had a pretty strong week.
      • Season: .279/.424/.462 | 19.7 BB% / 25.8 K%| 13 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 9/24 | 5 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Justyn-Henry Malloy (JHM) is looking to transfer full-time to a corner outfield spot and has shown the plate skills for the Majors already. Still, he needs to show good enough defense to get the call. He’s getting on base but is not doing damage right now.
      • Season: .287/.411/.461 | 15.5 BB% / 9.9 K%| 15 XBH, 2 HR, 13 SB
      • This Week: 7/24 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Caleb Durbin looks like the next Jon Berti. But could he be more than a super-utility type?
      • Season: .290/.361/.589 | 8.4 BB% / 23.5 K%| 16 XBH, 8 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 4/19 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: I have never really been an Orelvis Martinex fan since the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. However, he’s playing pretty well despite the ridiculously high swinging strike rate, which I think will catch up to him in a Tyler Soderstrom-like way when he makes it to the Majors. The power is real, though.

AAA Pitchers

      • Season: 23 IP | 39.8 K-BB%, 18 SwStr% | 0.00 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Paul Skenes will be a top-40 starter in baseball out of the gate and could be a top-20 pitcher now. His six innings showed he’s stretched out enough for the show.
  • #55 AJ Smith-Shawver (SP – ATL)
      • Season: 17 2/3 IP | 15.4 K-BB%, 15 SwStr% | 5.09 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 5 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
      • Notes: AJ Smith-Shawver is starting to stretch out a little now with back-to-back good starts and reaching 99 MPH. He’s probably at least another three-four outings away until he gets a longer look at getting called back up into the rotation. He’s just been pitching once a week on Wednesdays.
  • #59 Carson Whisenhunt (SP – SF)
      • Season: 23 1/3 IP | 21.5 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr% | 5.40 ERA, 1.63 WHIP
      • This Week: 9 IP (2 starts) | 15 Ks, 5 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP
      • Notes: Carson Whisenhunt only gave up three hits this week in two starts and generated a ton of Ks, pitching in the PCL.
      • Season: 20 2/3 IP | 19.3 K-BB%, 16.0 SwStr% | 2.18 ERA, 1.45 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
      • Notes: David Festa has been striking out a ton of batters in the last few weeks. The question now is if he is ahead of Louie Varland in the pecking order in the rotation.
      • Season: 23 IP | 22.9 K-BB%, 16.3% SwStr% | 2.74 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 9 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
      • Notes: Clayton Beeter has had a really strong year thus far as a starter when it appeared the Yankees would make him a pen arm, ala Michael King.
      • Season: 26 2/3 IP | 21 K-BB%, 10.4 SwStr% | 1.01 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 4 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
      • Notes: Mason Black is ready for the call up, but the Giants have a ton of starting pitching depth. It almost seems like they will pull back on the innings at this point until they need him if a mid-longer term injury occurs at the Big League level.
  • #117 Nick Nastrini (SP – CWS)
      • Season: 16 2/3 IP | 20.2 K-BB%, 15.8% SwStr% | 7.56 ERA, 1.86 WHIP
      • This Week: 9 2/3 IP | 12 Ks, 5 BB | 7.45 ERA, 1.66 WHIP
      • Notes: Nick Nastrini got rocked in his first start back to AAA, probably a little upset about being sent down. Still, he was locking in on his second start, where he had six Ks and one BB in six innings with no ER.
      • Season: 25 1/3 IP | 15.6 K-BB%, 11.7 SwStr% | 3.91 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Richard Fitts is a player who could be up soon with all the injuries to the Red Sox’s rotation. He’s a solid back-end starter but doesn’t appear to be anything special for fantasy.
      • Season: 32 1/3 IP | 25.4 K-BB%, 13 SwStr% | 1.11 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 5 Ks, 4 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
      • Notes: Cade Povich didn’t have his control last time out but still managed to limit the damage. He’s sitting as insurance for a major pitching injury to someone currently in the rotation.
      • Season: 25 1/3 IP | 29 K-BB%, 17.7 SwStr% | 2.84 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 4 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Jack Leiter bounced back for a couple of solid starts at AAA after the bad start in the Majors. He could possibly be back up to replace Nate Eovaldi in the Major League rotation this week.
      • Season: 35 2/3 IP | 20.6 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr% | 1.77 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
      • This Week: 13 IP (2 starts) | 12 Ks, 1 BBs | 2.08 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Sem Roberese is putting up some nice numbers at AAA. I watched him a couple of times this spring out of the pen, and I saw him get rocked once, though the stuff does look faster coming out of his hand as there’s some Joe Ryan-esk deception in his delivery.
      • Season: 8 IP | 21.2 K-BB%, 12 SwStr% | 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 5 Ks, 2 BBs | 9.00 ERA, 1.75 WHIP
      • Notes: Robert Gasser was activated last week and will likely require another two to three starts before the Brewers are ready to bring him up to the Bigs, which also depends on how well he is pitching in these starts. The Brewers rotation isn’t exactly full of studs.

AA Hitters

      • Season: .263/.290/.453 | 3 BB% / 25 K%| 8 XBH, 5 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 8/24 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Samuel Basallo’s bat really woke up this week; I’m super high on him, so it’s nice to see him rolling.
      • Season: .261/.425/.489 | 19.5 BB% / 21.2 K%| 12 XBH, 4 HR, 7 SB
      • This Week: 10/21 (w/ 9 BBs) | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 4 SB
      • Notes: Be patient for more sample size with the AA hitters and below, he is rocking a .200 BABIP.
      • Season: .253/.346/.473 | 10.6 BB% / 23.1 K%| 9 XBH, 5 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 7/21 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Brady House had his best week of the young season, catching up on some power numbers.
      • Season: .255/.342/.343 | 10.3 BB% / 15.4 K%| 7 XBH, 1 HR, 6 SB
      • This Week: 9/26 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Cole Young is running a lot more to start the year, which is nice to see. He’s young for the level at only 20 years old, so keep that in mind when reviewing his stats. His plate skills are carrying him up levels.
      • Season: .287/.327/.447 | 5.9 BB% / 25.7 K%| 11 XBH, 2 HR, 5 SB
      • This Week: 6/29 | 4 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: It’s nice to see Marcelo Mayer doing some damage this season.
      • Season: .176/.336/.318 | 17.4 BB% / 22 K%| 8 XBH, 2 HR, 12 SB
      • This Week: 2/13 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Jakob Marsee has had a rough season so far, but he was just traded to the Marlins. So, let’s keep an eye on how this helps or hurts him moving forward. He is likely to be up on the team at some point this year.
      • Season: .337/.385/.562 | 5.2 BB% / 28.1 K%| 12 XBH, 4 HR, 7 SB
      • This Week: 6/20 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: Carson Williams had another strong week and after a killer start, the plate skills are devolving some, which is the main thing I want to keep an eye on with him.
      • Season: .319/.451/.538 | 15.8 BB% / 21.1 K%| 12 XBH, 4 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 10/26 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Tyler Locklear continues to rake and is trying to force his way onto the roster at some point this season.
      • Season: .326/.360/.533 | 5 BB% / 9 K%| 11 XBH, 3 HR, 7 SB
      • This Week: 10/27 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: James Triantos is keeping the hits rolling.
      • Season: .380/.426/.700 | 6.5 BB% / 23.1 K%| 13 XBH, 9 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 11/28 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Deyvison De Los Santos returned to Arizona with a vengeance after being a Guardians Rule 5 and not making the cut.
      • Season: .429/.443/.679 | 1.1 BB% / 11.4 K%| 15 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 12/28 | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: I’m not a Jacob Wilson fan for fantasy, but you have to give credit to someone hitting this well. He’s almost in the Steven Kwan mold the way he plays. This is the second week in a row he’s performed well.
      • Season: .277/.404/.532 | 14.8 BB% / 23.5 K%| 10 XBH, 7 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 8/23 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Ben Rice is 25 years old, and if he keeps raking like this, the Yankees just need to call him up and see what he can do in the Majors.
      • Season: .363/.379/.571 | 2.1 BB% / 32.6 K%| 11 XBH, 4 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 13/29 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Wildred Veras has over a .500 BABIP helping him, but this dude seems to do damage at every level.
      • Season: .341/.434/.471 | 12 BB% / 20 K%| 6 XBH, 2 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 13/28 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: This former top-100 prospect is trying to hit his way back into relevance this year and is having a great rebound season!
      • Season (AA): .352/.426/.611 | 9.8 BB% / 21.3 K%| 9 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 13/33 | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Mike Boeve has been raking, earning a call-up from A+ last week, and already racking up nine XBH in only 13 games at AA.
      • Season: .344/.440/.563 | 13.3 BB% / 13.3 K%| 8 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 11/22 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: No homers this week, but I can’t ignore an 11-for-22 week either.

AA Pitchers

      • Season: 30 IP | 25.5 K-BB%, 17.8 SwStr% | 1.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Drew Thorpe keeps rolling, and the fact he is not in AAA doesn’t bother me; he could come up straight from AA.
      • Season: 16 2/3 IP | 20.6 K-BB%, 17.2 SwStr% | 2.16 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
      • This Week: 3 IP | 5 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
      • Notes: Jackson Jobe is getting the small-inning treatment. Still, my thoughts are that if he comes up, it’s in September.
      • Season: 18 1/3 IP | 19.7 K-BB%, 15.7 SwStr% | 3.44 ERA, 1.09 WHIP
      • This Week: 3 2/3 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 2.45 ERA, 0.27 WHIP
      • Notes: Jacob Misiorowski is also getting short-start treatment like Jobe.
      • Season: 25 2/3 IP | 26.3 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr% | 2.10 ERA, 0.74 WHIP
      • This Week: 7 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.57 WHIP
      • Notes: Tink Hence has been phenomenal this year and has to be on the verge of a call-up to AAA at this point.
      • Season: 15 2/3 IP | 17.4 K-BB%, 12.3 SwStr% | 5.74 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
      • This Week: 10 IP (2 starts) | 16 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.70 ERA, 0.30 WHIP (2 H only)
      • Notes: Wikelman Gonzalez had a nice rebound week with two stellar starts after a rough start to the season.
      • Season: 24 1/3 IP | 19.6 K-BB%, 14.5 SwStr% | 5.18 ERA, 1.60 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
      • Notes: Jake Eder has been getting rocked but putting up good under-the-hood numbers, which might actually help from a value standpoint if you can buy low.
      • Season: 26 1/3 IP | 25.3 K-BB%, 14.7 SwStr% | 2.39 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 5 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: I have a feeling Adam Mazur is ahead of Robby Snelling in the pecking order now, but the Padres’ rotation is fairly set, and even if something happens, they have players like Jhony Brito and Randy Vasquez who could fill in for immediate depth.
      • Season: 25 2/3 IP | 27.8 K-BB%, 18 SwStr% | 2.10 ERA, 0.78 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
      • Notes: Ian Seymour is older for the level, but he’s destroying and is a name to watch with the Rays in the event that Tyler Alexander doesn’t work out as a starter or they run into more injuries before Jeffrey Springs and Drew Rasmussen return in the second half.
      • Season: 24 2/3 IP | 16.2 K-BB%, 14.6 SwStr% | 1.46 ERA, 1.18 WHIP
      • This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
      • Notes: Jairo Iriarte has been dealing this year. While many think he’s slated for the pen, he is demonstrating himself to be a better starter than Eder at the same level with the same team and is now even going super deep into games.
      • Season: 33 2/3 IP | 17.2 K-BB%, 12.3 SwStr% | 3.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
      • This Week: 13 IP (2 starts) | 15 Ks, 2 BBs | 2.08 ERA, 0.77 WHIP
      • Notes: Gunnar Hoglund is finally healthy and pitching some serious innings. I bet he’s up at some point this season.
      • Season: 27 IP | 25.5 K-BB%, 15.4 SwStr% | 2.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
      • Notes: Carson Palmquist has always carried some nice strikeout numbers, and it’s interesting to think the Rockies organization might have Chase Dollander, Sullivan and Palmquist all in the Majors in a few years.
      • Season: 30 1/3 IP | 16.1 K-BB%, 9.2 SwStr% | 1.78 ERA, 0.73 WHIP
      • This Week: 12 IP (2 starts) | 8 Ks, 6 BBs | 2.25 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
      • Notes: The Angels are always a team to prompt players quickly, but Dana’s swinging strike rate is fairly low and he is walking too many guys as of now.
      • Season: 29 1/3 IP | 23.9 K-BB%, 15.7 SwStr% | 1.23 ERA, 0.85 WHIP
      • This Week: 14 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 18 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.61 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
      • Notes: Blade Tidwell is another fast-rising college pick from the Mets who is following in Scott’s footsteps.
      • Season: 28 1/3 IP | 29.5 K-BB%, 16.5 SwStr% | 3.18 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
      • This Week: 12 1/3 IP (2 starts) | 14 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.65 ERA, 0.65 WHIP
      • Notes: The AA White Sox rotation is ridiculously good, with Edgar Quero as their fearless leader/catcher.

A+ Hitters

      • Season: .354/.442/.354 | 13.5 BB% / 13.5 K%| 0 XBH, 0 HR, 23 SB
      • This Week: 6/22 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB
      • Notes: For those who don’t know, Chandler Simpson is very good friends with Victor Scott II, and they had a stolen-base competition last year. He is ready for AA, as he continues the foot race and steals bags every time he gets on base.
      • Season: .306/.349/.582 | 6.6 BB% / 19.8 K%| 13 XBH, 7 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 8/22 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Cam Collier is looking to rebound in 2024 after a lackluster 2023 that saw him drop off my top 150. He’s coming back with a vengeance.
      • Season: .326/.466/.489 | 20.3 BB% / 19.5 K%| 9 XBH, 2 HR, 9 SB
      • This Week: 8/24 (w/ 10 BBs) | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: Carter Jensen has some good BABIP luck this year, but he has great plate skills and a nice power/speed balance. If he can manage an average hit tool, he could be a fantasy contributor at some point.
      • Season: .266/.395/.457 | 17.5 BB% / 19.3 K%| 8 XBH, 4 HR, 12 SB
      • This Week: 8/28 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Andrew Pintar was a fifth-round pick in 2022, and the hit tool has taken some major steps forward this year.
      • Season: .244/.358/.477 | 15.1 BB% / 11.3 K%| 10 XBH, 5 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 12/28 | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Jared Serna is a smaller dude with a huge uphill battle, but he’s had bad BABIP luck this season and still managed a good slash.

A+ Pitchers

      • Season: 19 1/3 IP | 34.2 K-BB%, 14.9 SwStr% | 4.19 ERA, 0.93 WHIP
      • This Week: 7 1/3 IP (2 starts) | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.68 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
      • Notes: Noah Schultz is dominating in the strikeout department, but a little like Misiorowski, he needs to reign in the control to live his best life. We have some Tyler Glasnow-like skills here.
      • Season: 25 1/3 IP | 22.5 K-BB%, 15.2 SwStr% | 2.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs | 4.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Rhett Lowder continues rolling, and it’s a wonder why he is not in AA yet.
      • Season: 20 2/3 IP | 37.2 K-BB%, 17.2 SwStr% | 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs| 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Sean Sullivan is managing these numbers while dancing around his .451 BABIP.
      • Season: 27 IP | 28.3 K-BB%, 15.8 SwStr% | 1.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP
      • This Week: 11 1/3 IP (2 starts) | 14 Ks, 4 BBs | 1.59 ERA, 0.97 WHIP
      • Notes: Winston Santos continues to destroy at the high-A level, and at 22 years old, he should move up to AA with a couple more starts like this.
      • Season: 25 2/3 IP | 25.9 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr% | 2.81 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
      • Notes: Andrew Morris is old for the level as a 2022 draftee and is a breaking ball-command pitcher more than one with killer stuff. I’m interested to see what he would be doing in AA.
      • Season: 20 1/3 IP | 36.2 K-BB%, 16.7 SwStr% | 2.08 ERA, 0.93 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 5 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
      • Notes: Jaden Hamm was a fifth-round pick. However, he has been absolutely dominant throughout his entire Minor League career and should be highlighted as a riser.
  • Andry Lara (SP – WAS)
      • Season: 23 2/3 IP | 30.5 K-BB%, 18 SwStr% | 2.28 ERA, 1.10 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
      • Notes: Andry Lara is off to a strong start on a strikeout-rate basis and doesn’t have much of a pedigree, but I’m curious to see more of him as he continues to shove.
  • Jonah Tong (SP – NYM)
      • Season (A): 18 2/3 IP | 45.6 K-BB%, 21.9 SwStr% | 0.00 ERA, 0.64 WHIP
      • This Week (A+): 5 IP | 7 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Jonah Tong was called up and continued his dominance into high A.
  • Yujanyer Herrera (SP – MIL)
      • Season (A): 17 IP | 32.8 K-BB%, 20.2 SwStr% | 2.12 ERA, 0.94 WHIP
      • This Week (A+): 3 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Yujanyer Herrera has no pedigree and is popping this year out of nowhere, but is worth watching moving forward as a 20-year-old.

A Hitters

      • Season: .304/.409/.543 | 13.6 BB% / 14.5 K%| 11 XBH, 5 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 10/25 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Lazaro Montes is too good for this level, but I guess they want to get the confidence up before promoting him to high-A.
      • Season: .276/.444/.434 | 21.2 BB% / 12.1 K%| 8 XBH, 2 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 8/26 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Jaison Chourio is only a year younger than his brother and could be close to as good. Still, the Guardians are an organization that promotes slowly, so it’s unlikely we’ll see a jump similar to what the Brewers did with Jackson Chourio.
  • Angel Genoa (SS – CLE)
      • Season: .319/.373/.538 | 8.8 BB% / 12.7 K%| 12 XBH, 4 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 8/25 | 5 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Angel Genoa is a switch-hitting, hit-first middle infielder in the mold of Brayan Rocchio and had a nice week. It will be interesting to see if this year’s power strides are real.
      • Season: .197/.330/.579 | 16.5 BB% / 37.4 K%| 11 XBH, 9 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 4/22 | 4 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: I saw him smash a homer in a live look on Thursday. This dude is huge but looks to be a big boom-and-bust type who will be a three-true outcomes type, but he is also suffering from a .182 BABIP.
      • Season: .279/.380/.407 | 13 BB% / 14 K%| 6 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 9/25 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Josue Briceno is a giant 6-foot-5 catcher who is showing to have a very good hit tool and solid plate skills.

A Pitchers

      • Season: 19 IP | 4.8 K-BB%, 11.4 SwStr% | 4.26 ERA, 1.47 WHIP
      • This Week: 10 IP (2 starts) | 11 Ks, 6 BBs | 0.90 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • Notes: Noble Meyer seems to be getting his feet under him, and while the control needs some work, he’s looking much better the last couple of times out.
      • Season: 24 IP | 25 K-BB%, 14.7 SwStr% | 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 5 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Santiago Suarez has been a killer, though the Rays have not been very good when it comes to pitching development. They tend to do better at adapting pitchers from outside of their organization.
      • Season: 24 1/3 IP | 36.2 K-BB%, 19 SwStr% | 0.74 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.42 ERA, 0.63 WHIP
      • Notes: Quinn Matthews needs to move up a level; he’s 23 years old.
      • Season: 25 IP | 33.3 K-BB%, 16.9 SwStr% | 0.36 ERA, 0.72 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 7 Ks, 3 BBs | 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
      • Notes: George Klassen was removed from his last start with a potential injury, so keep an eye on this one.
      • Season: 23 IP | 30 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr% | 3.13 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
      • This Week: 11 IP (2 starts) | 14 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.64 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
      • Notes: Michael Kennedy (a lefty) had some stellar numbers at complex last year after being a prep pick in 2022 and has shown impeccable command thus far in 2024.
      • Season: 24 2/3 IP | 24 K-BB%, 15.3 SwStr% | 3.65 ERA, 1.09 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
      • Notes: Fernando Perez has a good-looking curve and has been dealing this year.
      • Season: 25 2/3 IP | 40.7 K-BB%, 19.3 SwStr% | 0.35 ERA, 0.66 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 5 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Matt Wilkinson is coming off his worst start of the season, but “The Tug Boat” (as they call the 6-foot-1 270-pound pitcher) continues to tow.
      • Season: 21 IP | 32.2 K-BB%, 16.5 SwStr% | 2.57 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs | 5.79 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
      • Notes: Luis De Leon looks like a dude. He’s skinny, but once he builds onto his frame, he could also add more velo.
