Yoshinobu Yamamoto (LAD) vs. ATH
According to FanGraphs, among tonight’s probable starters, Yoshinobu Yamamoto has the lowest ERA (1.80), second-lowest xERA (2.65), lowest xFIP (2.51), lowest SIERA (2.71), lowest WHIP (0.98) and highest strikeout rate (30.3 K%). Additionally, Yamamoto’s strikeout rate is 5.3% higher than the second-highest mark on this slate. He’s unquestionably the best pitcher on this slate.
Yamamoto’s excellence offsets his mediocre matchup. The Athletics are 12th in wRC+ (106) with a 19.0 K% versus righties and fifth in wRC+ (112) with a 20.6 K% on the road in 2025. Yet, the Dodgers are -270, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs. So, the betting info also supports Yamamoto’s ranking as the top pitcher on tonight’s MLB DFS main slate.

Jameson Taillon (CHC) vs. MIA
Jameson Taillon has pitched well at home, albeit not as well as his ERA indicates. In 18 home starts spanning 108.2 innings since last year, Taillon has had a 2.24 ERA, 3.99 xFIP, 1.03 WHIP, 5.3 BB% and 19.9 K%. Even if Taillon’s true talent at home is closer to his xFIP than his ERA, he’s a valuable SP2 pick at DraftKings in GPPs at his salary.
Taillon has a good matchup and outstanding betting info tonight. The Marlins are 24th in wRC+ (92) with a 23.6 K% versus righties and tied for 18th in wRC+ (88) with a 22.8 K% on the road this year. Finally, the Cubs are -210, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
