Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Matthew Boyd (CHC) vs. COL
Matthew Boyd is having a stellar 2025 campaign. According to FanGraphs, Boyd has had the following stats in 10 starts spanning 55.1 innings this year.
- 3.42 ERA
- 3.52 xERA
- 3.86 xFIP
- 3.63 SIERA
- 1.32 WHIP
- Four wins
- Six quality starts
- 6.4 BB%
- 23.7 K%
Boyd has a mouthwatering matchup against the worst offense in baseball against lefties and on the road. The Rockies are 30th in wRC+ (56) with a 27.7 K% versus lefties and 30th in wRC+ (58) with a 28.5 K% on the road this year. As a result, the Cubs are -360, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Hunter Greene (CIN) at KC
Hunter Greene has smashed on the road. In 91 innings on the road since last season, he’s had a 2.37 ERA, albeit with a 4.21 xFIP, a 0.96 WHIP, 8.3 BB% and 26.0 K%.
Greene’s ceiling is sky-high in a plus matchup. The Royals are 27th in wRC+ (86) with an 18.3 K% versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (75) with a 17.4 K% at home this year. The betting info is rock-solid, too. The Reds are -120, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Clarke Schmidt (NYY) at LAA
Clarke Schmidt is in a groove. In his last five starts spanning 27.2 innings, he’s had a 3.58 ERA, 3.88 xFIP, 4.12 SIERA, 1.23 WHIP, 12.5 BB%, 25.9 K%, 12.6 SwStr% and 30.0 CSW%.
Schmidt’s positioned to continue his heater in a sweet matchup tonight. The Angels are tied for 23rd in wRC+ (96) with a 27.0 K% versus righties and tied for 26th in wRC+ (80) with a 28.8 K% at home in 2025. So, the Yankees are -160, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
For my bankroll’s sake, I hope the Cubs don’t flub another cushy matchup tonight. They’ve failed to take advantage of facing lousy starting pitchers the previous two days, but the third time might be the charm. Tanner Gordon has a 7.52 ERA, 4.39 xFIP, 4.44 SIERA and 1.63 WHIP in 10 career starts in the Majors. The Cubs have the firepower to light up Gordon, so I’ll have a short memory and stack them again tonight.
- Home (Globe Life Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/TEX -130
Roster Resource and DraftKings are projecting Paxton Schultz to start for the Blue Jays tonight. He’s made four relief appearances in the Majors, all this season. His 2.53 ERA, 3.64 xERA, 2.96 xFIP, 2.59 SIERA and 1.13 WHIP all come with a small-sample-size caveat of 10.2 innings. Moreover, Schultz’s 4.68 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 12.1 BB% and 25.3 K% in 175 innings in Triple-A, split between 18 starts and 51 relief appearances, was unflattering. Thus, the Rangers could rough him up tonight, making them an intriguing stack.
