Now that rookie drafts have ended and eyes are turning to training camps, dynasty managers should also be looking at how to tweak their rosters. Personally, when I look to make a trade, I start with my roster and see what players are ranked higher in dynasty expert consensus rankings (ECR) than I think they should be. These rankings are a way to see who the market might like more than me, and a good starting point for building a trade. Here are players I’m selling if I can, grouped by their approximate value. Dynasty Trade Advice: Quarterbacks to Sell
Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)
No one knows what to expect out of Justin Fields in New York this year. He could be a top-10 asset at the position, or he could be a roster clogger by Week 10. Either way, I’m fine selling him now on the upside surrounding him. His ECR of QB23 means he’s only got significant value in Superflex leagues, but if I can trade him for a pair of quarterbacks on the rise or a future pick, I’m probably doing that regardless of how ready my team is to win this year.
Jayden Daniels (QB – WSH)
Everyone and their mother seems to be infatuated with Jayden Daniels in dynasty. I’ve seen him go first overall in some Superflex startup drafts, which seems crazy to me. He’s got terrific upside, but even his ECR of QB3 feels risky. I’d rather tier down to a more stable player like Joe Burrow or Jalen Hurts and get a pick or bench player as a flier. Take the value if you can and move on from Daniels before the hype wears off.
Patrick Mahomes (QB – KC)
The name amongst names in fantasy leagues for years is officially out of the top tier at quarterback. Patrick Mahomes’ name value alone is all he has going for him at this point. He’s fun to watch, but his antics on the field don’t translate to fantasy points. Mahomes’ current ECR of QB6 shows the community still likes him, but they don’t love him. If you can get out now and pivot to a younger or more mobile quarterback, you might be better off in the long run. Use our trade analyzer to see what you can get for him.
