Suggested Lineup Stacks
Max Scherzer has appeared cooked in his two starts this year, tallying a 5.63 ERA, 6.63 xERA, 4.99 xFIP, 5.20 SIERA and 1.50 WHIP. He has only a 5.4 SwStr% this season, which won’t cut it against the Yankees. Scherzer has coughed up a .342 wOBA to 110 lefties and a .307 wOBA to 100 righties since last season.
- Road (Chase Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/SF -155
Ryne Nelson has outkicked his peripherals lately. In his previous five appearances (four starts), he had a 3.57 ERA, starkly contrasting his 4.91 xFIP and 4.68 SIERA. Will the other shoe drop tonight? Maybe. Thus, I’ll gladly stack the Giants in GPPs tonight.
Core Studs
- Aaron Judge slugged two homers yesterday, running his season total to 30 along with 73 runs, 67 RBIs, six stolen bases, a .458 OBP, .366 ISO and 220 wRC+.
- Jazz Chisholm has hit 13 homers with 31 runs, 35 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, a .336 OBP, .253 ISO and 132 wRC+ in 220 plate appearances this year.
- Nick Kurtz has drilled a dozen dongs with 22 runs, 32 RBIs, a .317 OBP, .262 ISO and 129 wRC+ in 183 plate appearances in an impressive rookie campaign.
Value Plays/Punts
- Gary Sanchez is having a resurgent season at the plate, with four homers, 12 runs, 19 RBIs, a .329 OBP, .181 ISO and 118 wRC+ in 82 plate appearances. Furthermore, Patrick Corbin has yielded a .363 wOBA to 851 righties since last season.
- Ramon Urias has had a .323 OBP, .135 ISO and 104 wRC+ against lefties since 2023.
- Giancarlo Stanton hasn’t torn the cover off the ball since making his season debut on June 16. Still, Stanton has an average exit velocity of 93.3 miles per hour (MPH) on 23 batted balls, which would rank tied for 14th among qualified batters this year if he had enough batted balls to qualify. So, Stanton still has top-shelf power and can take advantage of Scherzer’s inability to miss bats this year.
