Finding good starting pitchers can be a weekly struggle. I aim to solve this headache during this season by finding the best pitchers, every week, who are on most waiver wires. I will use the FantasyPros fantasy baseball streaming pitchers tool to find league roster percentage information.

First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:
- Adrian Houser (@LAA): 5.2 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 5 Earned Runs, 11 Hits, 1 Walk (Loss)
- Mike Burrows (vs. SF): 4.2 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 6 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 3 Walks (Loss)
- Michael Wacha (@BOS): 6.0 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 0 Walks (Win)
- J.T. Ginn (@BAL): 5.0 Innings, 9 Strikeouts, 3 Earned Runs, 3 Hits, 2 Walks (Loss)
Total: 21.1 Innings, 18 Strikeouts, 16 Earned Runs, 24 Hits, 11 Walks (1-3)
Last week’s streamers left a lot to be desired. Michael Wacha was the only pitcher who had a nice outing. We will target pitchers to stream who are playing mainly the worst MLB teams this upcoming week.
Without further delay, below are my picks for pitchers to stream during Week 20, from Monday, August 11th through Sunday, August 17th.
Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers
Monday, August 11th
Taijuan Walker (SP – PHI) @CIN | 3% Rostered
Taijuan Walker solidified his return to the Phillies’ rotation by shutting out the Orioles for six innings on August 5th. Walker dominated a weak Orioles team and should find similar success against the Reds.
The Reds have a team OPS of .708, just .005 lower than that of the Orioles. Grab the veteran righty as he reemerges as a starter.
Alternative: Ryne Nelson (SP – ARI) @TEX | 27% Rostered
Tuesday, August 12th
Matthew Liberatore (SP – STL) vs. COL | 21% Rostered
Matthew Liberatore, it must be noted, is on a bit of a downturn lately. He has an ERA of 5.35 since July, and has failed to pitch five or more innings since July 5th. Why is Liberatore a good option? Well, he is finally playing against a bad team.
Liberatore has been through the gauntlet lately, facing the Dodgers, Padres (twice), Braves and Cubs in his last five starts. Look for Liberatore to bounce back against the bona fide worst team in the Majors.
Alternative: Janson Junk (SP – MIA) @CLE | 6% Rostered
Wednesday, August 13th
Michael McGreevy (SP – STL) vs. COL | 2% Rostered
Michael McGreevy seems to be a solid streaming option on a day without many pitchers to choose from. The 25-year-old can not be consistently trusted this season, as indicated by his 5.08 ERA (4.48 xERA) and 1.23 WHIP.
However, McGreevy should be trusted against the Rockies. McGreevy shut out the Rockies for seven innings on July 21st, and there is no reason to suspect he should not have another good performance against them this week.
Alternative: Aaron Civale (SP – CWS) vs. DET | 6% Rostered
Thursday, August 14th
Brad Lord (SP – WSH) vs. PHI | 1% Rostered
Brad Lord will not give you quantity, but he should give you quality. Lord seems to be the best option for Thursday, yet maybe not for the entire week. The rookie has shone this season with a 3.42 ERA and 1.23 WHIP.
Lord’s strong opponent, the Phillies, is the only factor holding him back from being a no-hesitation start. The Phillies have a .743 team OPS and are a dangerous team. Lord has been pitching deeper into games and recently tossed over five innings. Ideally, Lord will pitch about five solid innings to support ratios against the Phillies.
Alternative: Eduardo Rodriguez (SP – ARI) @COL | 5% Rostered
Friday, August 15th
Landen Roupp (SP – SF) vs. TB | 10% Rostered
Landen Roupp is slated to return from elbow inflammation to face the Rays. Elbow inflammation is always concerning, but Roupp is reportedly making a nice recovery.
The 26-year-old has had an impressive campaign, boasting a 3.11 ERA, a 1.43 WHIP and an 8.4 K/9 ratio. I love streaming Roupp against the Rays in his return.
Alternative: Sean Burke (SP – CWS) @KC | 5% Rostered
Saturday, August 16th
Ryne Nelson (SP – ARI) @COL | 27% Rostered
Ryne Nelson has been excellent since joining the Diamondbacks’ rotation. He has a stellar 2.38 ERA since July. This stat is even more impressive considering he has played tough opponents such as the Padres and Tigers.
If Nelson can secure great starts against those teams, there is no reason to believe he will struggle against the Rockies.
Alternative: Jameson Taillon (SP – CHC) vs. PIT | 17% Rostered
Sunday, August 17th
Jeffrey Springs (SP – ATH) vs. LAA | 23% Rostered
Jeffrey Springs has been mentioned countless times in these articles this season. This is for good reason. Springs is right on the border of being a long-term starter, yet he is not quite there.
Springs has been an innings-eater this season, devouring 132 innings with a 3.89 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 7.3 K/9. His ERA+ of 107 indicates he has been slightly above average. Stream Springs against the Angels, whose team batting average of .232 is far below the league average.
Alternative: Will Warren (SP – NYY) @STL | 15% Rostered
