Finding good fantasy baseball streaming pitchers can be a weekly struggle. I aim to solve this headache during this season by finding the best pitchers, every week, who are on most waiver wires. I will use the FantasyPros streaming pitchers tool to find league roster percentage information.

First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:
- Taijuan Walker (@CIN): 6.0 Innings, 2 Strikeouts, 1 Earned Run, 6 Hits, 1 Walk (No Decision)
- Matthew Liberatore (vs. COL): 4.0 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 3 Earned Runs, 4 Hits, 1 Walk (Loss)
- Michael McGreevy (vs. COL): 6.0 Innings, 2 Strikeouts, 3 Earned Runs, 7 Hits, 0 Walks (No Decision)
- Brad Lord (vs. PHI): 6.0 Innings, 3 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 7 Hits, 1 Walk (No Decision)
- Landen Roupp (vs. TB): 3.0 Innings, 5 Strikeouts, 5 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 1 Walk (No Decision)
Total: 25.0 Innings, 15 Strikeouts, 14 Earned Runs, 29 Hits, 4 Walks (0-1)
Three quality starts from our selections redeem this week. But a poor outing from Matthew Liberatore and a limited pitch-count outing from Landen Roupp are rough blemishes. Overall, this was a decent week. Let’s aim for more strikeouts for Week 21.
Without further delay, below are my picks for pitchers to stream during Week 21, from Monday, August 18th through Sunday, August 24th.
Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers
Monday, August 18th
Dustin May (SP – BOS) vs. BAL | 15% Rostered
Dustin May has settled into his new team. He struggled after being traded from the Dodgers to the Red Sox, but he shined in his most recent start. On August 12th, against the Astros, May struck out eight across six scoreless innings. He looked sharp, only walking one. Ride this momentum as May faces the Orioles, a struggling team that is even worse after the trade deadline.
Alternative: Tyler Alexander (SP, RP – CWS) @ATL | 0% Rostered
Tuesday, August 19th
Emmet Sheehan (SP – LAD) @COL | 6% Rostered
Emmet Sheehan is re-establishing himself in the Majors. After over a year of Tommy John surgery recovery, the 25-year-old has a 3.86 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 37 strikeouts over 35 innings. Sheehan has recently built up to throwing five innings, which is very helpful for fantasy purposes. Start Sheehan against the Rockies.
Alternative: Eduardo Rodriguez (SP – ARI) vs. CLE | 5% Rostered
Wednesday, August 20th
Cam Schlittler (SP – NYY) @TB | 5% Rostered
Cam Schlittler has had a rocky rookie season. The 24-year-old seems to have one good start followed by a not-as-good start. Interestingly, Schittler has yet to allow over three runs in an outing, so his not-as-good starts are not that bad. Because of this, Schlittler is a high-floor option against the Rays.
Alternative: Braxton Ashcraft (SP – PIT) vs. TOR | 0% Rostered
Thursday, August 21st
Brandon Young (SP – BAL) vs. HOU | 0% Rostered
Brandon Young may not seem like the best pitcher. The rookie has a 5.68 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 52.1 innings. Before you stop reading this section, there is an important caveat. Young threw 7.2 perfect innings against the Astros on August 15th. He came only four outs short of history. The rookie is certainly worth streaming against the Astros for his rematch a week later.
Alternative: Michael Lorenzen (SP – KC) vs. TEX | 5% Rostered
Friday, August 22nd
Mike Burrows (SP – PIT) vs. COL | 3% Rostered
Mike Burrows is a decent high-floor, low-ceiling pitcher. His 9.2 K/9 ratio boosts his fantasy value after glancing at his rough 4.46 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Burrows may not have much value against most teams, but he has potential against the 34-89 Rockies. The Rockies make any pitcher look good, and Burrows has good odds to secure a win.
Alternative: Sean Burke (SP – CWS) vs. MIN | 4% Rostered
Saturday, August 23rd
Dean Kremer (SP – BAL) vs. HOU | 10% Rostered
Dean Kremer started the season on a rough note. There was some rust after last season. Luckily, the veteran has stepped up his game and has had a 3.68 ERA since June 1st, compared to a 4.17 ERA on the season. In addition, Kremer has a history of dominating the Astros with an ERA of 1.82 against them in 29.2 innings. Kremer is worth a stream against the Astros.
Alternative: Jameson Taillon (SP – CHC) @LAA | 17% Rostered
Sunday, August 24th
Jacob Lopez (SP – ATH) @SEA | 26% Rostered
Jacob Lopez is on a hot streak. His last two starts have combined for 14.2 scoreless innings, 19 strikeouts, no walks and only seven hits. Lopez has not allowed a run in four starts. The starter has come out of nowhere to earn a 3.30 ERA and 1.19 WHIP on the season. Start Lopez against anyone right now, even if he is facing a tough Mariners roster. Grab and keep Lopez.
Alternative: Matthew Liberatore (SP – STL) @TB | 19% Rostered
