You should be grinding the fantasy baseball two-start pitchers to give you an advantage over your competition.
Each week, I will be giving you a breakdown of the two-start options for your fantasy leagues, broken up into the following tiers:
- Must Start: The guys that you have to start because of their talent and/or matchups.
- Should Start: These are the guys that are rostered in most formats and probably should be in your lineup.
- Here We Go: Pitchers that you are probably starting in most formats, but have some level of risk to them.
- Feeling Lucky: Pitchers that are risky, but viable in deeper formats.
- Desperate Measures: Pitchers you shouldn’t use unless you have no other choice.
Make sure you are aware that when making fantasy baseball start or sit decisions that these projected two-start pitchers are subject to change.

Fantasy Baseball Two-Start Pitchers
Must Start
- Garrett Crochet (SP – BOS) at ATH, vs. NYY
- Jose Berrios (SP – TOR) vs. HOU, vs. BAL
- Noah Cameron (SP – KC) at CLE, at PHI
- Framber Valdez (SP – HOU) at TOR, at ATL
- Bryan Woo (SP – SEA) vs. STL, vs. LAA
- George Kirby (SP – SEA) vs. STL, vs. LAA
- Shota Imanaga (SP – CHC) at ATL, vs. TB
- Nick Lodolo (SP – CIN) at SD, at ATH
- Yu Darvish (SP – SD) vs. CIN, vs. COL
- Michael King (SP- SD) vs. CIN, vs. COL
- Logan Webb (SP – SF) vs. ARI, vs LAD
Should Start
Adrian Houser (SP, RP – TB) at CWS, at CHC
Adrian Houser’s overall stat line is great, but he has struggled more in Tampa than he did before the trade. However, he has a great matchup to start the week, and both of these games are away from home, which has been a rough place to pitch this past week.
Luis Morales (SP – ATH) vs. BOS, vs. CIN
Luis Morales has been fantastic since entering the rotation for the A’s. You are using him in almost every format at this point. The only scary part is that both of these starts are at home, which is a tough place to pitch. The matchups aren’t easy, but he has been too good not to use.
Ryan Bergert (SP – KC) at CLE, at PHI
Since arriving in Kansas City, Ryan Bergert has been fantastic. He has had great command of his pitches and is getting strikeouts, too. The only reason this week is even a question is because Philly is so tough on the back end, but you are using him most everywhere.
Here We Go
Eury Perez (SP – MIA) vs. WSH, vs. DET
Eury Perez is experiencing the ups and downs of returning from Tommy John surgery. That is to be expected, but we have also seen the upside when his stuff is under control. This is a high-risk, but high-reward play with a good matchup to start the week and a bad one to end it.
Cade Cavalli (SP – WSH) at MIA, vs. PIT
Cade Cavalli has been up and down since making his debut this year, but his stuff is really exciting. He also has two really good matchups here, so if you are looking for wins and strikeouts, this is a good stream
Will Warren (SP – NYY) vs. DET, at BOS
Will Warren has been up and down this season, but the stuff is really good, and when he has good control of it, he can be dominant. He has two tough matchups here, so there is some risk, but the Yankees will give him run support, so it’s a high-upside gamble.
Jose Quintana (SP – MIL) at TEX, vs .STL
Outside of a blow-up outing versus the Diamondbacks, Jose Quintana has been pretty good recently. He has two decent matchups versus a depleted Rangers offense and an unassuming Cardinals team. He deserves to be an option in a lot of formats this week.
Feeling Lucky
Braxton Ashcraft (SP, RP – PIT) at BAL, at WSH
Braxton Ashcraft has been pretty good recently for the Pirates; however, they are starting to limit him as the season winds down. That means his already low win probability from being on the Pirates drops even further. These aren’t bad matchups, so you can take the gamble, but it is risky.
Slade Cecconi (SP, RP – CLE) vs. KC, vs. CWS
Slade Cecconi has struggled down the stretch, but the overall profile is promising. He has two great matchups here, which give him some streaming use as a sneaky wins play.
Aaron Nola (SP – PHI) vs. NYM, vs. KC
Aaron Nola has not been great since returning from the injured list (IL), but the stuff looked better in his last start, and he has a great team behind him. This one is risky, but he has a great second start here, and the Phillies will give him a chance to win.
Desperate Measures
- Miles Mikolas (SP – STL) at SEA, at MIL
- Nabil Crismatt (SP, RP – ARI) at SF, at MIN
- Chase Dollander (SP – COL) at LAD, at SD
- Joey Wentz (SP, RP – ATL) vs. CHC, vs. HOU
- Janson Junk (SP, RP – MIA) vs. WSH, vs. DET
- Caden Dana (SP – LAA) vs. MIN, at SEA
- Kyle Hendricks (SP, RP – LAA) vs. MIN, at SEA
- Yoendrys Gomez (SP, RP – CWS) vs. TB, at CLE
- Sean Manaea (SP – NYM) at PHI, vs TEX
- Sawyer Gipson-Long (SP – DET) at NYY, at MIA
- Simeon Woods Richardson (SP – MIN) at LAA, vs. ARI
- Mitchell Parker (SP – WSH) at MIA, vs. PIT
