Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Targets
All the quarterbacks in this article are rostered in under 50% of ESPN leagues.
Aaron Rodgers (PIT) vs. Indianapolis Colts (41.9% Rostered)
After multiple poor performances heading into the Steelers’ Week 5 bye, Rodgers has been an excellent streaming option the past few weeks. The future Hall of Famer has completed 68% of his pass attempts for 234.3 yards, 2.7 touchdowns, and 18.9 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, totaling at least two scores and 16.8 fantasy points in every contest despite facing a couple of talented defenses. More importantly, Rodgers has had more on his plate lately, setting a season-high in pass attempts in back-to-back games.
Last week, the Colts “held” Cam Ward to 12.8 fantasy points. However, the rookie did have the second-highest passing yard total of his career (259) and his best fantasy performance. Furthermore, Ward’s only other game with more than 10.2 fantasy points came against Indianapolis in Week 3 (12). More importantly, the Colts have struggled against capable passing attacks, surrendering 330.3 passing yards, 2.8 touchdowns, and 24.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks not named Ward or Geno Smith since Week 1, allowing 20.7 or more fantasy points in every contest.
Joe Flacco (CIN) vs. Chicago Bears (36.7% Rostered)
No one has had more fantasy impact over the past three weeks than Flacco. Not only did he turn Ja’Marr Chase back into a high-end WR1, but the veteran has been an outstanding streaming option. He has completed 64.3% of his pass attempts for 261.3 yards, 2.3 touchdowns, and 23 fantasy points per game since getting traded to the Bengals, totaling 24.3 or more in back-to-back contests. Furthermore, Flacco has taken care of the ball after totaling six interceptions and two fumbles lost in four games with the Cleveland Browns.
By comparison, the veteran has zero turnovers with Cincinnati. Meanwhile, the Bears’ defense has been destroyed by injuries, including second-round rookie defensive lineman Shemar Turner suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 8. Despite facing several sub-par passers, Chicago has surrendered 216.6 passing yards, 2.3 touchdowns, and 18.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year. Last week, they gave up 186 passing yards, a touchdown, and 16.7 fantasy points to Tyler Huntley on only 22 attempts. Don’t be surprised if Flacco has his third consecutive top-eight finish this week.
Trevor Lawrence (JAC) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (27.5% Rostered)
Lawrence has played better after an awful start to the season. The former top draft pick averaged 211.3 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 12.3 fantasy points per game over the first month, totaling one or fewer touchdowns and under 11.7 fantasy points in all but one contest. However, the veteran improved heading into Jacksonville’s Week 8 bye, averaging 258.3 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 21 fantasy points per game over the past three contests, totaling 17.6 or more in every outing. More importantly, Lawrence is starting to use his legs.
The former Clemson star has averaged five rushing attempts for 27 yards, 0.7 touchdowns, and 6.7 fantasy points per game on the ground over the past three contests. Meanwhile, the Raiders can’t stop a nose bleed, let alone a capable passing attack this year. They have surrendered 238.3 passing yards, 1.6 touchdowns, and 16.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, giving up 18.8 or more in nearly half the contests. Furthermore, Las Vegas has surrendered over 27 rushing yards to quarterbacks in three of their past six matchups.
Sam Darnold (SEA) vs. Washington Commanders (20.9% Rostered)
Fantasy players might feel like the clock hit midnight on Darnold in Seattle’s last game against the Houston Texans. The veteran completed only 54.8% of his pass attempts for 213 yards, one touchdown, two turnovers, and 8.6 fantasy points. However, he faced arguably a top-three pass defense in that game. Meanwhile, Darnold had been on fire, averaging 274 passing yards, 2.3 touchdowns, and 20.1 fantasy points per game over the previous four contests, totaling at least 295 yards, two touchdowns, and 20 fantasy points in the final two outings.
More importantly, the former USC star has an excellent matchup against a struggling Commanders defense on Sunday night. Washington had surrendered 19.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the first seven weeks, the sixth-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they gave up 265.6 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 21.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over their previous five contests before last week’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes finished with 299 passing yards, three touchdowns, and 23 fantasy points against the Commanders on Monday night.
