Discord AMA: Week 11
Joe Flacco is a Top-10 Fantasy Quarterback
Joe Flacco is correctly ranked as the QB10 in the expert consensus rankings (ECR) this week. Nevertheless, many Discord users asked if they can start him this week, and the answer is yes.
According to the Fantasy Points Data Suite, Flacco is first in passing yards per game (313.5) and tied for third in passing touchdowns (11) since joining the Bengals in Week 6. Furthermore, Flacco is the QB1 in fantasy points per game (25.4) since Week 6, and he was the QB6 in fantasy points (26) against the Steelers in Week 7. Gamers shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth and should start the 40-year-old streamer hero.
Michael Wilson Is Not the Arizona Wide Receiver to Stream
Gamers have justifiably reacted to Marvin Harrison Jr.‘s absence after surgery for appendicitis earlier this week and Zay Jones landing on the injured reserve (IR) with an Achilles issue. However, while the Cardinals will need others to step up behind Trey McBride in the passing attack, Michael Wilson isn’t the horse to hitch your wagon to.
Wilson already has a 78.6% route participation rate this year, and he’s parlayed his playing time into a putrid 11.6% target share, 0.12 targets per route run (TPRR), 22 receptions (2.4 per game), 231 receiving yards (25.7 per game), 0.78 yards per route run (YPRR) and one touchdown. Targets are earned, and Wilson hasn’t earned them.
Gamers are better served by scooping up diminutive slot wideout Greg Dortch. Dortch’s 0.14 targets per route run this year aren’t good, but they’re better than Wilson’s mark. Furthermore, Dortch had 0.18 TPRR in 2024, 0.17 TPRR in 2023 and 0.20 TPRR in 2022. Those marks are more palatable.
Dortch also has a matchup advantage over Wilson. The undersized Dortch has a 69.2% slot rate this year versus 39.7% for Wilson, and Wilson’s size makes him the more natural fit to play outside at a higher rate in Harrison’s absence. Meanwhile, the 49ers have faced the fifth-highest slot target rate (36.6%) this year and faced the fourth-highest slot target rate (38.9%) since Week 6. Dortch is unlikely to corral a deep reception, but he should reel in multiple receptions, making him a viable desperation streamer in half-PPR and full PPR formats.
Woody Marks Should be Treated as a Locked-In RB2
Woody Marks had a 63% snap share in Week 7, which was his highest snap share of the season at that time, and Nick Chubb had only a 25% snap share. The following week, Chubb’s 44% snap share outpaced Marks’ 40% snap share. The Texans fooled gamers who thought Week 7, the first game after Houston’s bye, represented a full-blown backfield takeover for Marks.
Last week, Marks played a season-high 80% snap share, and Chubb and Dare Ogunbowale had snap shares of only 13% and 7%, respectively. Could the organization fool gamers again? It’s possible.
However, Marks turned 14 rush attempts into 63 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, and he added three targets, two receptions and 18 receiving yards last week. He did nothing to warrant a change of direction this week. The Texans are 5.5-point favorites this week. So, the game script should be positive for Marks and Houston’s rushing attack.
Jeffery Simmons could return this week to bolster Tennessee’s run defense. Still, he’s listed as questionable after closing the week with back-to-back limited practices, and the rebuilding Titans might opt to exercise caution by holding him out another game or limiting his snaps. Gamers should trust Marks to make the most of a probable favorable game script and likely plus matchup, and treat him as a legitimate RB2.
