Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups
All the quarterbacks in this article are rostered in under 50% of ESPN leagues.
Jacoby Brissett (ARI) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (47.1% Rostered)
Arizona’s passing attack has been far more efficient since Brissett took over under center. The veteran quarterback has completed 67.1% of his pass attempts for 314.5 yards, 1.8 touchdowns, and 20.9 fantasy points per game in his six starts, totaling at least two touchdowns and 19.4 fantasy points in all but one contest. Last week, he had 317 passing yards, a touchdown, and 18.7 fantasy points. More importantly, Brissett has been sneaky good with his legs, totaling 20 or more rushing yards in three of the past five games.
Not only has the veteran been productive since taking over as the starter, but Brissett has finished every week as a top-12 quarterback. That streak should continue in Week 13 against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay’s pass defense has struggled this season, allowing 1.7 passing touchdowns and 19.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Furthermore, they’ve given up 286.7 passing yards, 2.7 touchdowns, and 27.9 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks since their bye week, allowing at least 18.1 in every contest. Brissett is a borderline must-start quarterback in Week 13.
Trevor Lawrence (JAC) vs. Tennessee Titans (28.9% Rostered)
Last week, Lawrence had three interceptions in the overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals. Yet, the former Clemson star still had 17.1 fantasy points, completing 60% of his 30 pass attempts for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Furthermore, he had five rushing attempts for 29 yards, making it the fourth consecutive game with at least five attempts. More importantly, Lawrence has played well since the Jaguars’ Week 8 bye, averaging 15.8 fantasy points per game, totaling 15 or more in every game except the matchup against the Houston Texans.
Furthermore, the veteran has used his legs more since the bye week, averaging six rushing attempts for 24.3 yards, 0.8 touchdowns, and 6.9 fantasy points per game on the ground. Meanwhile, the Titans have surrendered 236.6 passing yards, 1.6 touchdowns, and 17.3 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this year. Last week, Sam Darnold completed 61.5% of his pass attempts for 244 yards, two touchdowns, and 17.7 fantasy points against Tennessee after back-to-back awful performances. Don’t be surprised if Lawrence has a top-10 finish against the division rivals.
Shedeur Sanders (CLE) vs. San Francisco 49ers (5.2% Rostered)
Head coach Kevin Stefanski wouldn’t name a Week 13 starting quarterback following Sunday’s win. However, Sanders has reportedly been named the starter for this week’s matchup against the 49ers after filling in for an injured Dillon Gabriel in Week 12. The former Colorado star had a solid fantasy points in Cleveland’s 24-10 win, totaling 209 passing yards, a touchdown, and 10.3 fantasy points on only 20 attempts. More importantly, the rookie has a fantasy-friendly matchup against San Francisco, making him a solid streaming option in superflex or deeper leagues.
Unfortunately, the 49ers’ defense has been destroyed by injuries this year. They have lost Nick Bosa, Mykel Williams, and Fred Warner to season-ending injuries. All the injuries have impacted San Francisco’s pass defense, as they have surrendered 256.1 passing yards, 1.9 touchdowns, and 18.9 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks entering Monday night’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Furthermore, the 49ers have given up 310.3 passing yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and 24.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past four contests before facing Bryce Young on Monday night.
Cam Ward (TEN) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (5.2% Rostered)
Ward has struggled this season, averaging only 10 fantasy points per game. However, the former Miami star has had the best performance of his short career in back-to-back weeks. After totaling 13.1 fantasy points in Week 11 against an elite Houston Texans defense, the rookie was outstanding despite facing a talented Seattle Seahawks unit on Sunday. Ward completed 66.7% of his 42 pass attempts for 256 yards, a touchdown, and 23.9 fantasy points, setting a career high in fantasy points. Furthermore, he put up fantasy points with his legs.
The rookie had six rushing attempts for 37 yards, a touchdown, and 9.7 fantasy points with his legs on Sunday, totaling 33 or more yards for the second consecutive game. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have surrendered 258 passing yards, 2.1 touchdowns, and 21.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past eight weeks, allowing at least 20 fantasy points in all but one contest. Last week, Jacoby Brissett completed 67.3% of his pass attempts for 317 yards, a touchdown, and 18.7 fantasy points against Jacksonville despite missing Marvin Harrison Jr.
