Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice: Players to Buy & Sell (2025)

It feels wrong to open a fantasy basketball trade advice piece without mentioning the Giannis Antetokounmpo rumors. Unlike the Luka Doncic out-of-nowhere blockbuster, this has the makings of a true saga.

Where Antetokounmpo goes is, for now, purely speculative. This isn’t Anthony Davis strong-arming his way to the Lakers or James Harden forcing himself to the Clippers. For entertainment purposes, the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes will hopefully be filled with unexpected twists and turns.

From a fantasy perspective, an Antetokounmpo deal changes the fates of at least two squads. While it’s still too early to fashion a trade advice article around the rumors, it seemed important to get the ball rolling. Let’s focus on the trade market in your leagues instead.

Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 7)

Trade For

Keegan Murray (SF, PF – SAC)

Over his last six games, Keegan Murray is averaging 41.46 fantasy points on over 39 minutes per game — a figure greater than Tyrese Maxey‘s average during that same span, which is saying a lot.

Murray returned from a UCL tear in his left thumb on November 20th and has yet to play fewer than 33 minutes in any game so far. Combine his elite participation with 7.6 rebounds and 3.4 stocks (steals plus blocks) per game, and it’s easy to see why Murray has been fantastic in fantasy.

Joel Embiid (C – PHI)

Heading into this campaign, it was to be expected that Joel Embiid would miss a large portion of the season, instantly rendering him a fantasy asset difficult to trust. What was not expected was Embiid battling injuries to both knees. It’s early December…

Availability is paramount in fantasy basketball now more than ever. Rostering Embiid for the rest of the season with confidence is an impossibility. Better to make him someone else’s problem. Perhaps wait and see if Embiid can rattle off a few healthy games before trading him for greater value.

Trade For

Josh Hart (PF, SF, SG – NYK)

The absence of OG Anunoby has allowed for the Tom Thibodeau-level minutes to creep back in for the rest of the Knicks’ wings. Die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, Mike Brown.

Josh Hart has been everywhere for the Knicks lately. The scrappy forward is posting a line of 15.6 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 2.2 stocks per game in nearly 35 minutes a night over his last 10. Expect a dip in production when Anunoby returns, but remember that Hart has never been one to rely on offensive volume to be a productive fantasy player.

Trade Away

Kristaps Porzingis (PF, C – ATL)

For a player who’s battled injuries his whole career, Kristaps Porzingis‘ offseason postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) diagnosis has been incredibly sad to see limit his playing time.

The new Atlanta Hawk has put up solid numbers when active, but the nature of POTS is such that it can seemingly come and go in waves. Porzingis has already missed 11 of Atlanta’s 23 games. Of course, the hope is that Porzingis will be a regular contributor for a resurgent Hawks squad once he overcomes the illness.
