2026 NFL Draft Predictions: Dynasty Rookies & Landing Spots

The 2026 NFL Draft is already shifting after the NFL Scouting Combine, and Derek Brown and Pat Fitzmaurice just gave us a clean early look at how Round 1 could shake out.

For dynasty fantasy football players, the main thing you care about is simple: where are the premium rookies at QB, RB, WR and TE projected to land.

Below is a position-by-position breakdown of the key dynasty rookie names in both mocks, plus what the landing spots would mean for rookie draft season.

2026 NFL Draft Predictions: Dynasty Rookies & Landing Spots

Quarterback

Fernando Mendoza (Indiana)

  • Projection: 1.01 to the Raiders (Brown and Fitzmaurice)

There’s no debate at the top. Both mocks have Mendoza going No. 1 overall to Las Vegas.

Fitzmaurice’s angle is macro: he sees the 2026 class as thin at quarterback and calls Mendoza the only passer he’d consider a “guaranteed” first-rounder. Brown zooms in on fit, tying Mendoza to Klint Kubiak’s offense and citing strong efficiency markers (adjusted completion rate, yards per attempt, big-time throw rate).

Dynasty Impact: In Superflex, a No. 1 overall QB almost automatically becomes the 1.01 in rookie drafts. Even if the 2026 QB class is light, the draft capital and expected early playing time would keep Mendoza insulated.

Running Back

Jeremiyah Love (Notre Dame)

  • Fitzmaurice: 1.07 to Washington
  • Brown: 1.09 to Kansas City

Love is the only running back either analyst puts in the top 10, which matters a ton. Round 1 RB draft capital is increasingly rare, and it tends to settle dynasty debates quickly.

Fitzmaurice calls Love the lone “fine-dining option” in a weaker RB class and pairs him with Jayden Daniels in Washington, even acknowledging the Commanders’ limited draft capital. Brown sends Love to the Chiefs, framing it as Kansas City chasing explosive runs and pointing out Love’s ability to contribute as a receiver.

Dynasty Impact: If Love is a top-10 NFL pick, he’s the clear RB1 in dynasty rookie drafts and has a strong case for 1.01 in 1QB formats. If he lands in Kansas City specifically, you’re going to see his ADP rise fast.

Wide Receivers

Carnell Tate (Ohio State)

  • Fitzmaurice: 1.14 to Baltimore
  • Brown: 1.04 to Tennessee

This is the biggest dynasty swing between the two mocks.

Brown has Tate as his WR1 and sends him fourth overall to Tennessee, framing it as the Titans giving Cam Ward a true No. 1 receiver. That’s the kind of landing spot and draft capital combo that creates a premium rookie pick.

Fitzmaurice still likes Tate as a first-rounder but has him going 14th to Baltimore, and he’s a bit more skeptical about top-10 billing after Tate’s 4.53 forty.

Dynasty Impact: If Tate goes top five, he’s a top-three rookie pick in most formats and could easily challenge for 1.01 in 1QB depending on Love’s landing spot. If he’s more mid-first in the NFL Draft, he still projects as a rookie first-rounder, but the “instant dynasty WR1” hype cools a bit.

Makai Lemon (USC)

  • Fitzmaurice: 1.13 to the Rams
  • Brown: 1.08 to the Saints

Both analysts treat Lemon like a legitimate first-round receiver, and both landing spots make sense in different ways.

Brown has New Orleans addressing an obvious need and views Lemon as a clean schematic fit. Fitzmaurice sends him to the Rams as a forward-looking move with veteran uncertainty and contract timelines in mind.

Dynasty Impact: Lemon looks like the type of receiver who stays in that “safe mid-first rookie pick” bucket, with the chance to climb if he winds up attached to a stable quarterback situation or a clear target path by midseason.

Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State)

  • Fitzmaurice: 1.16 to the Jets
  • Brown: 1.21 to the Steelers

Tyson is a Round 1 name in both mocks, but with slightly different team fits. Fitzmaurice emphasizes Tyson’s all-around receiver profile and versatility despite prior injury history. Brown ties the Steelers projection to the idea that Pittsburgh fills quarterback with a veteran and then feeds that QB another capable pass-catcher.

Dynasty Impact: Late first-round NFL WRs typically become mid-to-late first-round rookie picks. Tyson’s value will swing hard based on quarterback stability and whether his new team actually commits to him as a featured option rather than a complementary piece.

Tight End

Kenyon Sadiq (Oregon)

  • Fitzmaurice: 1.09 to Kansas City
  • Brown: 1.23 to Philadelphia

Sadiq is the tight end both mocks agree belongs in Round 1, and they both bake in his combine explosion.

Fitzmaurice ties Sadiq directly to Kansas City as a potential Travis Kelce successor. Brown has him falling to Philadelphia, with the not-so-subtle subtext being “Howie Roseman gets away with it again,” and notes the possible reshuffling of pass-catching roles there.

Dynasty Impact: First-round tight ends with elite athletic profiles are the ones who actually move TE-premium leagues. If Sadiq is a top-10 pick, he’ll go much earlier in rookie drafts than the typical tight end. If he’s in the 20s, he’s still the TE1, but you’ll see more managers choose elite WR/RB profiles first.
