Tuesday’s Top MLB DFS Picks & Player Props
Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (8/18)
Kyle Harrison is having a breakout campaign, and after a stat correction applied yesterday to his start on August 11th, his ERA is back under 3.00. According to FanGraphs, he also has the following numbers in 19 starts spanning 93.1 innings this season:
- 9 wins
- 6 quality starts
- 3.23 xERA
- 3.10 xFIP
- 3.10 SIERA
- 1.13 WHIP
- 6.3% walk rate
- 29.7% strikeout rate
- 12.9% SwStr%
- 30.4% CSW%
- 106 stuff+
- 114 location+
- 117 pitching+
The lefty has a plus matchup and betting info tonight. The Mariners are tied for 25th in wRC+ (90) with a 23.9% strikeout rate versus lefties and 17th in wRC+ (96) with a 22.2% strikeout rate on the road in 2026.
Seattle is also tied for 12th in wRC+ (101) with a 22.2% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and 16th in wRC+ (95) with a 22.5% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. As a result, the Brewers are -150 favorites, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Tyler Mahle is in superb form. In his previous five starts, totaling 28.2 innings, the veteran righty has whipped up the following stats:
- 2 wins
- 3 quality starts
- 2.83 ERA
- 3.09 xERA
- 3.22 xFIP
- 3.18 SIERA
- 0.94 WHIP
- 6.3% walk rate
- 28.8% strikeout rate
- 11.4% SwStr%
- 29.2% CSW%
- 86 stuff+
- 112 location+
- 103 pitching+
Mahle’s matchup and betting info are OK. The Twins are tied for eighth in wRC+ (106) with a 21.1% strikeout rate versus righties and tied for 17th in wRC+ (103) with a 20% strikeout rate at home.
Minnesota is 21st in wRC+ (92) with a 21.1% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days, but they’re 12th in wRC+ (103) with a 22.3% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. The Braves are -130 favorites, but the game’s total is 8.5 runs, which isn’t a needle-mover.
Robbie Ray‘s 3.28 ERA this year is drastically overperforming his ERA estimators. The veteran southpaw isn’t a stranger to outkicking his underlying data, though. Ray is an inconsistent hurler whose good starts would play well in GPPs. That said, his bad starts are too frequent to trust him in cash games, making him an ideal GPP option.
Ray’s matchup and betting info don’t do much to help or hurt his GPP cause, either. The Mets are tied for 13th in wRC+ (97) with a 23.2% strikeout rate versus lefties and 22nd in wRC+ (99) with a 22.4% strikeout rate at home this season.
New York is ninth in wRC+ (107) with a 25.4% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days and first in wRC+ (130) with a 24.2% strikeout rate in the last 14 days. Still, the Padres are -115 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Cubs have a tantalizing matchup against Erick Fedde tonight. The veteran righty has made 12 starts and 14 relief appearances, totaling 109.2 innings. He has amassed a 4.51 ERA, 4.71 xERA, 4.83 xFIP, 4.75 SIERA and 1.41 WHIP this year and allowed a DFS-friendly 1.81 HR/9.
Fedde has also ceded a .320 wOBA to left-handed batters and a .373 wOBA to right-handed batters this year, making him an appealing option to stack hitters of either handedness against.
Eric Lauer has spun a 3.48 ERA in 10 starts and one relief appearance for the Dodgers after struggling mightily for the Blue Jays earlier this season.
The lefty’s 3.95 xERA with the Dodgers suggests he hasn’t been especially lucky, but his 5.23 xFIP and 5.01 SIERA suggest otherwise. Coors Field is a difficult venue for any pitcher, but Lauer’s low strikeout rate makes him an even worse fit for the hitter-friendly venue than others.

Core Studs
- Pete Crow-Armstrong has slugged 30 homers with 89 runs, 78 RBI, 31 stolen bases, a .379 on-base percentage (OBP), .269 ISO, .396 wOBA, and 154 wRC+ in 561 plate appearances this season.
- Seiya Suzuki has drilled 22 dingers with 71 runs, 74 RBI, two stolen bases, a .363 OBP, .219 ISO, .368 wOBA and 135 wRC+ in 474 plate appearances this year.
- Cole Carrigg has hit two homers with a .360 OBP, .195 ISO, .373 wOBA and 123 wRC+ in 91 plate appearances against lefties in his rookie campaign.
Value Plays/Punts
- Caleb Durbin‘s season got off to a slow start. However, in 279 plate appearances from May 28th through August 16th, he hit 11 homers with 45 runs, 44 RBI, 10 stolen bases, a .370 OBP, .199 ISO, .378 wOBA and 141 wRC+. Durbin also recorded three hits, one walk, two runs, one RBI and one stolen base last night.
- Connor Norby is essentially cheap exposure to Coors Field.
- Pedro Ramirez has hit one homer with a .348 OBP, .125 ISO, .331 wOBA and 110 wRC+ in 116 plate appearances against righties in his rookie season.

Ranger Suarez has struck out fewer than five batters in three straight starts and has been generally unimpressive since returning from the injured list (IL) at the end of July.
In four starts since returning from the IL, he has a 3.78 ERA, 5.39 xERA, 3.69 xFIP, 1.32 WHIP, 7.2% walk rate, 18.8% strikeout rate, 7.5% SwStr% and 13 strikeouts. Suarez also has a nightmare matchup for strikeouts, as the Diamondbacks are first in strikeout rate (17.5%) versus lefties and sixth in strikeout rate (21.1%) on the road in 2026.
Kyle Harrison has been a monster at home. In 10 home starts, Harrison has twirled a 1.38 ERA, 2.31 xFIP, 0.87 WHIP, 5.5% walk rate and 35% strikeout rate, clearing 5.5 strikeouts seven times.
Yordan Alvarez has been a beast this year. He has rattled off 82 singles, 25 doubles and 36 homers with a .321 batting average, .330 expected batting average (xBA), .619 slugging rate, .681 expected slugging (xSLG) and .298 ISO in 543 plate appearances this season.
