Mike Hauschild roughed up over three innings against Angels Friday

by Steve Painter | Fri, Mar 17th 10:10pm EDT

Mike Hauschild, one of the several pitchers for the Rangers vying for a spot in the starting rotation, was roughed up Friday in a three-inning appearance against the Angels. He allowed seven hits, four runs, and a pair of walks and labored during his three innings. According to beat reporter Evan Grant, coach Jeff Banister said afterward that he would not over-evaluate the outing. Hauschild had allowed seven hits, three runs, and two walks in his previous four outings (10.1 innings) this spring.

Fantasy Impact:

The Rangers have two spots open in their starting rotation to start the season. Hauschild is a Rule 5 pick from Houston and if he doesn't make the final roster he will have to be offered back to the Astros so the Rangers will lean toward him if it's a close call with the final roster decision.
