by Jon Mathisen | Tigers Correspondent | Fri, Dec 4th 11:01pm EST

Gio Urshela underwent successful surgery on Friday to remove a bone chip from his right elbow, according to the Yankees PR Department. (Yankees PR on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The surgery went according to plan and Urshela's recovery time is expected to be three months so he's not in danger of missing the start of the 2021 season. This is the same elbow that bothered him in September and sent him to the 10-day IL. He also missed time last year with a groin injury. Urshela still had a solid year for the Yanks, slashing .298/.368/.490 with six home runs and 30 RBI across 151 at-bats during the regular season.
