Outfielder Pavin Smith went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and a walk as the Diamondbacks lost to the Cubs 8-3 on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Smith scored the first run of the game for the D-Backs in the top of the sixth inning after he reached base with a double. Daulton Varsho drove him in with a double of his own to give Arizona a pair of runs. He reached two more times in the ball game with a single and a walk as well. The 25-year-old rookie is starting to heat up at the plate after going through a slump pre All-Star break. He's slashing .348/.464/.696 with two doubles, two home runs, three RBI, and five walks over the last seven games.
