Jackson Kowar allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three across four innings as the Royals lost to the Mariners 7-1.

Kowar (0-3) has had a tough September since being recalled from Triple-A Omaha, allowed 16 earned runs across his last three starts, taking the loss in the last two. Kowar's next appearance lines up to take place in Detroit.
