Ralph Garza Jr. blows save in loss to Yankees

by Andersen Pickard | Thu, Jun 23rd 8:49am EDT

Rays reliever Ralph Garza Jr. allowed two runs, one hit, and three walks over two innings of work against the Yankees on Wednesday evening. He struck out a batter but was charged with both the loss and blown save. Tampa Bay ultimately fell to New York by a score of 5-4.

Fantasy Impact:

Garza surrendered both runs in the eighth inning. He came out and pitched a solid ninth, but the damage had already been done. The right-hander is now 0-2 with a 3.75 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and .290 OBA through 24 innings of relief work this season. He has struggled with 4.13 K/9 and 4.13 BB/9 and should be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.
