Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald should be ready for the opening of spring training following offseason elbow and heel procedures. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
The elbow and heel procedures were only minor and all signs point toward a healthy spring for the right-hander. Sewald enjoyed a fine 2022 season that included a 2.67 ERA and 29.8% K% along with 20 saves across 65 appearances. He should collect more saves in 2023 but will see competition from Andres Munoz -- also recovering from an injury -- for closing duties.
