The Los Angeles Dodgers released Bauer following his serving of a domestic violence suspension and the remainder of the league's clubs decided not to ink the former Cy Young winner. Bauer last pitched in the 2021 season, posting a 2.59 ERA across 17 starts with Los Angeles after winning the 2020 NL Cy Young Award with the Reds. The 32-year-old will look to resurrect his pitching career and public image in a one-year stint overseas.
